Before Josh Allen was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, he was a kid in California’s Central Valley.

Allen was born in Firebaugh, Calif., to a family of six who owned a pistachio farm. Let’s break down Allen’s siblings.

Does Josh Allen Have Any Brothers?

Allen has three siblings: a younger brother named Jason and two sisters, Nicala and Makenna.

Jason Allen is only one year younger than the Bills quarterback, and he’s nearly as tall as his 6’5″, 237-pound older brother, as evidenced by this photo from Josh’s college football days.

Nicala is the oldest of the Allen siblings. The four siblings are all very close, as their mother, LaVonne, explained to the Casper Star-Tribune.

“They’re the best of friends, and people see it,” LaVonne said. “They’re like, ‘What have you guys done with your family that they’re so close?’ I go, ‘I don’t know. We just support each other, and I wanted my kids to do that, too.’”

    Did Allen’s Brother Play Sports?

Given Jason’s size and genes, you’re probably wondering if he played sports just like his older brother.

In fact, all four Allen kids were introduced to sports by their parents. They were also all in great shape since they would work on their family’s farm, picking weeds, digging ditches, and setting up irrigation pipes, among other tasks.

Jason was a multi-sport athlete at Firebaugh High, where he starred in football, basketball, and baseball. The 6’4″ athlete shined on the hardwood, earning All-West Sierra League honors his senior year.

However, Jason was most successful on the diamond. He helped lead the Eagles to a 29-7 record, including an 8-2 mark against their league opponents. He was incredibly versatile, playing first baseman, pitcher, and outfielder.

He played four seasons of varsity baseball with Firebaugh, and he managed to hit over .300 in back-to-back seasons, according to MaxPreps.

As a senior, he put together his best season, averaging .343 at the plate while totaling 36 hits, 41 runs, 30 RBIs, and nine home runs.

He finished his prep career with 13 HRs, 22 doubles, and 92 runs.

Did Jason Pursue His Own Professional Sports Career?

Jason continued playing baseball after high school. Like Josh, he had to go the JUCO route. But instead of playing for nearby Reedley College like his older brother, Jason headed to Orange County and played for Saddleback College.

Jason only played in 10 games total, batting .200 and never delivering multiple hits in a single game. While playing first baseman, he scored six runs and stole one base.

Jason ultimately walked away from baseball and focused on his studies. He eventually earned his Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Agricultural Business at Saddleback.

Jason decided to pursue that degree in order to keep the family farming business going.
