Josh Allen Makes Feelings Clear on Keon Coleman’s Future After Bills Owner’s Concerning Comments on WR

After the surprising comments made by ownership about Bills WR Keon Coleman, QB Josh Allen spoke up about their future together.

After the Buffalo Bills’ season once again ended after falling short of their ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl, the entire franchise fell under scrutiny.

One of the most heavily criticised decisions was the selection of wide receiver Keon Coleman in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, QB Josh Allen recently came to his defense.

What Did Bills QB Josh Allen Have To Say About WR Keon Coleman and Their Future Toegther?

The Bills lost in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Denver Broncos and finished their season 12-5. Many fans felt that general manager Brandon Beane should be the one getting a pink slip, but the franchise put head coach Sean McDermott on the chopping block.

This led to some unusual comments from Beane and Bills owner and president Terry Pegula about Coleman. When the media questioned the decision to bring Coleman in, Pegula was quick to put the blame on McDermott.

However, that hasn’t turned Allen off. He recently said he is still looking forward to working with the third-year receiver in 2026.

According to a post on X from Alaina Getzenberg, an ESPN reporter for the Bills, “Josh Allen on Keon Coleman and everything from the press conference last week: ‘He will come back from that. I’m not gonna give up on zero.’ Said that they’ll find way to football games and Coleman will be a part of that.”

Coleman was chosen in the second round in 2024 out of Florida State. During his rookie season, he showed flashes of potential, and fans were hopeful he would develop into the kind of weapon that could help Allen and the Bills finally win a Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, his second season wasn’t an improvement. His stats were nearly identical to 2024, and the most recent season was plagued by discipline issues.

Coleman was benched multiple times for being late for team meetings. This led to him being benched as a healthy scratch in Weeks 11 and 12.

The NFL will often overlook some “diva-like” behaviors from its wide receivers if they are performing on the field, but Coleman isn’t. He played in 13 games in 2025, starting in six, and recorded 38 receptions for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Coleman’s immature behavior drew comments that he was behaving like a rookie during his sophomore season. Yet at times, fans saw exactly what drew the Bills in.

During the playoff game against the Broncos, Coleman found himself in an elevated role due to injuries to other receivers. He may have had only one catch for 10 yards and a touchdown, but he still played 40% of the offensive snaps.

Despite Allen’s kind words about working with Coleman, his future is very much up in the air. It is likely that the wide receiver room as a whole will get a bit of an overhaul this offseason as new head coach Joe Brady looks to bring change.
