Bill Belichick’s rise with the New England Patriots was the stuff of legend. Six Super Bowl wins, 18 playoff trips, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Anyone who’s followed the NFL knows what he’s meant to the game. But it turns out he’s also been working at a championship level in his relationship with girlfriend Jordon Hudson. Belichick has spent his life chasing rings — and now, it looks like he may be ready to chase a very different kind.
Jordon Hudson’s Apparently Ready To Take the Next Step
In a May 20 article published in the New York Times, reporter Katherine Rosman claimed that Hudson is “engaged to be married” to Belichick.
“Ms. Hudson has taken control of the management of his personal brand and used her new status to her own audacious advantage. She has torpedoed an HBO series and attempted to trademark Mr. Belichick’s famous catchphrases. On social media, she has posted a steady stream of photos highlighting their romance.
“She has hobnobbed with celebrities, promoted political causes, and somehow amassed a real estate portfolio worth more than $8 million — all to the bewilderment of the coach’s fans and those close to him, many of whom consider her a distraction or worse.
“And Ms. Hudson has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.”
It’s a major development in what has turned into a fast-moving relationship. At age 73, the North Carolina Tar Heels head coach doesn’t seem to be in any mood to wait around.
Hudson’s Relationship Origin Predates Bill Belichick’s Split With Patriots
According to Business Insider, Belichick began dating Hudson before parting ways with the Patriots and owner Robert Kraft. Yet, they actually met much earlier than that.
The two reportedly crossed paths in 2021 on a flight to Florida. While they remained acquaintances for a while, they didn’t officially start dating until 2023.

So yes, Belichick and Hudson were at least in contact while the Patriots were still all-in on the “Patriot Way.”
Belichick’s run with the team ended in January 2024, which means that while the Patriots were stumbling to a 4-13 season in 2023 (and maybe even back in 2022, he may have been quietly focused on something else.
Some might see that timing and speculate that it was a distraction. Maybe that’s why things fell apart after Mac Jones’ promising rookie season in 2021. Of course, that’s just a theory.
“Was it Brady or Belichick?” has always been the question. But now? Maybe it was Hudson and Belichick all along.
