Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer made his 2025 debut in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran defender was elevated from the practice squad as the Bills’ secondary deals with several injuries. It was a homecoming for Poyer, who played for the Bills from 2017-23 before spending 2024 with the Miami Dolphins.
Unfortunately, Poyer and the rest of the Bills were unable to come away with a win, dropping their second straight game. However, Poyer’s wife, model and social media influencer Rachel Bush, shared her reasons for remaining positive after the loss.

What Message Did Rachel Bush Share After the Loss?
Bush took to X to say she was proud of her husband and explain that the defense made her happy. Bush also noted that she expects the offense to “come back stronger” and a “fire will be lit” going forward.
“My positive note ❤️💙 Proud of my hubby and defense made me happy. Looks like getting it together there. Offense is full of guys who will come back stronger and hold themselves accountable. A fire will be lit there going forward. No panic yet,” Bush said.
Bush and Poyer have been married since 2018, and Bush regularly posts about her husband’s playing career and Buffalo. When Poyer returned to Buffalo in August, the model declared this their “last ride,” and referred to Buffalo as “home.”
In Week 6, Poyer was able to collect one tackle. As a whole, the Bills allowed the Falcons to generate 443 total yards of offense, but running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London accounted for 396 of those.
What’s Next for the Bills?
At 4-2, the Bills are now behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East due to the Patriots having the head-to-head win. In Week 7, the Bills are on their bye week. The team’s next game is in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers.
After the Panthers, the Bills have matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
Surprisingly, the Bills’ defense has been very mediocre this season. The team is 17th in opponent points per game, 17th in opponent yards per game, and 30th in opponent rushing yards per game.
Of course, injuries haven’t helped the unit. DaQuan Jones, Matt Milano, Terrel Bernard, Damar Hamlin, Dorian Strong, and Maxwell Hairston are all important defenders who have missed time. If the Bills hope to contend, as many think they would, they need to get healthy as quickly as possible.
