Packers Star Jordan Love Addresses Green Bay’s Rumored Interest in George Pickens

Packers star Micah Parsons spent time at the Pro Bowl trying to get Cowboys receiver George Pickens to Green Bay. What does Jordan Love think?

Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens is a free agent this offseason, and the Green Bay Packers have recently been rumored as potential suitors. The Cowboys have already given quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb massive extensions, and there’s doubt Dallas will do the same for Pickens after it traded edge rusher Micah Parsons away last season.

The Packers have been looking for their No. 1 receiver ever since they traded Davante Adams. Christian Watson has shown sparks, as have Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed, and Green Bay drafted Matthew Golden in the first round of last year’s draft, but none have shown much consistency.

What Did Jordan Love Say About George Pickens’ Green Bay Rumors?

Who better to ask about the Packers bringing in a top receiver than their quarterback?

Jordan Love joined the “Up & Adams Show” on Thursday, and he addressed clips of Parsons lobbying for Pickens to come to Green Bay during the Pro Bowl.

“They’re (Parsons and cornerback Keisean Nixon) out here recruiting, doing their due diligence,” Love said. “If you can bring in another player, George Pickens, he had a phenomenal year. He’s a great player.

“I would love to have the most talented players on our team at all times. We’ll see. You’re not in control.”

Pickens had a career year with the Cowboys, collecting 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl and is set for a big extension this offseason.

The only thing holding Pickens back is off-the-field stuff. He’s got all the talent and has demonstrated it each year in the NFL, but he’s also been known to stir up drama on his respective team.

But Love, Parsons, and Nixon seem to be on board to bring the two-time 1,000-yard receiver to Green Bay.

“I’ll throw him a go ball and watch him go up and get it,” Love said, on which route he’d want to throw Pickens. “I’ve played basketball with him. I know what type of bounce he’s got, so yeah.”

Love shared a minor detail about playing basketball together that has fans thinking there’s a real possibility the two could unite in Green Bay. However, Love said he was keeping where they played together a secret.

Another important factor is that the quarterback and receiver share the same agent. Love, Pickens, and even Parsons are all represented by David Mulugheta of Athletes First.

“George got the same agent as well. We all get together for elite week,” Love said. “David brings us all out, get together and do some cool things.”

Everything is far from a done deal, and there are no sources saying the two sides are discussing a deal at the moment, but the connections and relationships among the players are certainly there.
