Jonah Coleman’s NFL Draft Potential

Jonah Coleman won’t run as fast as the rest of my RBs in the Top 100, nor will he jump as high in the vertical. But at 5’9″, 228 pounds, Coleman is tailor-made to be a rotational early-down back at the very least, and a potential gem of a volume back in the right offense. For his size, he has excellent short-area energy, foot speed, cutting flexibility, and feel for tempo, and as you might expect from his build, he can absorb solo hits with contact balance and physicality, then reset and keep runs alive. In short, Coleman has the quicks, instincts, and physicality to outplay his athletic testing and draft billing.

CFB Week 9 Update

Coleman was as advertised in Week 9 against the Illinois Fighting Illini, averaging 5.4 yards per carry on 14 attempts, while finding the end zone twice — once on the ground and once through the air. Coleman’s 2025 campaign has been his best yet as a receiving threat, and his vision, foot speed, hip flexibility, and forward-pressing physicality remain assets on the ground.

His lack of elite explosion is also all too visible, but he should be able to compensate for that at the next level with his amalgamation of high-floor traits — and his newfound receiving versatility is an added bonus.

CFB Week 10 Update

Washington was on a bye in Week 10, but the Huskies will return to action in Week 11 against the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is 2-6 at this point and is reeling from a 7-21 loss to Oregon, but the Badgers still have enough talent in the trenches and in the secondary to present notable competition for opposing NFL Draft prospects.

CFB Week 11 Update

Coleman logged just five carries for two yards before leaving Washington’s game against Wisconsin with an injury – though he also caught two passes for 19 yards. The hope is that Coleman will be able to return for the Huskies’ next contest versus Purdue. He’s remained productive all season, but his efficiency on the ground has trailed off as of late, and he could use a strong finish.

Where Is Coleman Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Coleman currently holds the No. 106 overall rank among prospects, reflecting his standing among mid-round prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 105.0 as of November 11 reflects that he is typically being selected in the middle rounds.

This small gap between rank and ADP suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.

Users controlling the Seattle Seahawks have been the team that selected Coleman the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.1% of their picks across all seven rounds.
