‘You Think You Look Sweet’ — Joe Flacco Called Out Shedeur Sanders Over 1 Thing During Browns Stint

Joe Flacco hilariously called out then-rookie QB Shedeur Sanders over wearing a visor during their stint together with the Browns.

Veteran quarterback and Super Bowl champion Joe Flacco has always been the fun, outspoken type, and this trait was evident during his brief time with the Cleveland Browns last season, when he played alongside rookie Shedeur Sanders.

A behind-the-scenes moment from season three of Netflix’s “Quarterback” has gone viral, showing the veteran quarterback playfully roasting then-rookie Sanders over an accessory that Flacco believes is more of a fashion choice that has no place on an NFL quarterback.

Joe Flacco Jokingly Roasted Shedeur Sanders Over the QB’s Visor

During episode two of Quarterback’s third season, Flacco had quite the laugh as he teased the then-rookie Sanders over his choice to sport a visor on the field.

“If you wear a visor, it’s for look. You think you look sweet. It’s that ear. I don’t want my kids to wear visors either… They’re just annoying, they’re gonna fog up.” Flacco said, expressing his disdain for visors on a quarterback.

Sanders replied, “No, they’re not,” before Flacco continued to express how not-so-fond he is of visors.

“Yeah, they are. They [expletive] suck, dude. It’s all about look. When I was a kid, I wanted a visor too. Then I’m like, visors suck. They don’t make any sense.”

Sanders then followed up by asking the veteran QB if he would ever let his kids wear one, to which Flacco offered quite the comedic, fatherly response.

“I’d let them wear it, but I’d tell him, ‘You’re a quarterback, bro, you’re [expletive] wearing a visor? You look like a [expletive] idiot,'” Flacco jokingly added.

Sanders is far from the only quarterback across the NFL to wear a mirror visor, as the league allows players to wear only clear visors, but clearly, that doesn’t affect Flacco’s veteran mindset when it comes to the helmet accessory.

While the encounter was obviously light-hearted, rather than focusing on style, Flacco’s message centered on encouraging younger quarterbacks to focus more on their play than on their appearance. During his brief stint with the Browns, Flacco was entrusted to be a veteran voice and leader for a very young quarterback room that, at the time, featured names like Bailey Zappe and Dillon Gabriel alongside Sanders.

The clip has since spread quickly across social media, giving fans a glimpse into the dynamic between the longtime NFL veteran and one of the league’s most talked-about young quarterbacks. It also highlighted the kind of candid mentorship Flacco provided during his time with the Browns, delivered, as always, in Flacco’s style, with a healthy dose of sarcasm.

Flacco, now with the Bengals after signing a one-year, $6,000,000 contract this offseason, will likely get to see the young quarterbacks he helped mentor for a brief period twice this season, this time as a division rival. You best believe he will get the chance to toss a few jokes Sanders’ way if the young QB decides to bring out the visor once more.
