The New York Jets did not get a ton of opportunity to explore what Malachi Corley could turn out to be at the NFL level last season. With Aaron Rodgers essentially running the show, the 65th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft did not get to showcase his talents to the world.
Now, under a new regime and head coach Aaron Glenn with Justin Fields as his quarterback, Corley will have a better chance to highlight what made him a valuable pickup for New York. But before the season begins, the Orange City native is already going viral on social media, though not for his skills on the football field.
Malachi Corley Records UFO Live
The Jets wide receiver shot four videos of varying length on what appeared to be his cellphone right outside his house. He posted all of them on X, alongside a haunting caption detailing the night’s events to the world.
“Say whatever you want. This object(ufo), was legitimately up in the sky for over 30 minutes. I watched it. I stopped watching for about 2 minutes and looked up it was gone. No trace.”
In the first video, as he was swinging the camera around in the sky, he could be heard saying, “Normal sky, normal sky.” Then, once he spotted a bizarre purple hue in the clouds, he zoomed in, claiming, “Oh, what is that?”
He then captured a longer video zoomed in on the strange color from his backyard, as it seemed to expand. A third video, 13 seconds in length, gave a clearer look at what appeared to be multiple straight lines of that purple shade extending downwards.

However, as he explained in his accompanying caption, there was no object visible in a fourth video he recorded after presumably returning to the spot two minutes later, adding, “Same spot. Nothing up there. Crazy.”
The video immediately went viral on the platform. While some conspiracy theorists were ready to buy it as evidence of their ideas, others weren’t quite as sold. Instead, they had jokes aplenty about the Western Kentucky alum.
During his tenure with the Hilltoppers, Corley grew into his role as the primary receiver by his third year. In 2022, he tallied 1,293 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning a first-team All-Conference USA selection.
The next season, while he missed some time with injury, his yards per reception remained the same as he totaled 984 yards and 11 TDs. He declared for the NFL Draft in 2024, joining New York on a four-year rookie contract.
