The New York Jets are one of several teams that saw lots of turnover in the 2025 offseason. The team’s head coach, general manager, and quarterback have all been replaced since Week 1 of the 2024 season.
With the roster changes, the financial outlook for the team at the top has also changed. Here’s an updated look at who has the biggest salary cap hits this season on the Jets.
Highest-Paid Players on the New York Jets Roster
#10 – Allen Lazard, WR, $4,610,471
Aaron Rodgers is gone, but one of his go-to Packers receivers is staying behind. Lazard is the second-string receiver on the 2025 iteration of the team. He earned 530 yards and six touchdowns with the Jets in 2024.
#9 – Olu Fashanu, T, $4,661,525
According to Spotrac, the left tackle’s salary is in the top 10 for the organization. As a starting player in charge of keeping Justin Fields clean, it is worth paying a top-10 salary, and the Jets have done just that.
#8 –Â Greg Zuerlein, K, $4,730,941
It is rare to see a kicker with such a high-ranking salary, but the former Rams kicker is on the books for a notable number. Zuerlein made nine of 15 kicks in the 2024 season. 2025 will be his fourth season with the team.
#7 – Jamien Sherwood, ILB, $5,000,000
Sherwood is set to be one of the starting linebackers on the team in 2025, and his well-rounded number ranking in the top 10 backs that up. Sherwood is due for a raise after logging 158 combined tackles in 2024.
#6 – Garrett Wilson, WR, $6,539,911
Garrett Wilson is arguably the most famous name to have survived the house cleaning of 2024. Wilson still has 2025 and a fifth-year option in 2026 before his future with the Jets becomes any kind of question.
#7 – John Simpson, G, $6,690,000
The starting left guard is also one of the highest-paid players on the team. The Jets are rebuilding from scratch, which leaves most of their salaries at a low mark. Simpson is no exception. He earned a 77.3 PFF grade, ranking 16th in the NFL at the position.
#6 – Tyrod Taylor, QB, $6,800,000
Taylor’s name is synonymous with the backup role at this point and has seen every corner of New York. Taylor has spent time with the Bills and Giants and will now spend his second season with the Jets.
#5 – Justin Fields, QB, $8,000,000
Justin Fields is not the highest-paid player on the Jets by salary cap numbers. However, he’s still within the top five. The quarterback is looking to resurrect his career and had a solid start with the Steelers. Can he do it with the Jets?
#4 – Quincy Williams, LB, $8,425,000
The Jets are a defensive organization, and their salary cap reflects it. Williams earned a 68.0 PFF rating and will have plenty of reason to push to improve that in 2025.
#3 – Ahmad Gardner, CB, $10,643,437
Gardner is one of only three Jets players to crack the $10 million club. Also known as “Sauce,” the cornerback is one of the most well-known players on the Jets. Gardner is the starting left cornerback and earned a 70.2 PFF grade in 2024.
#2 – Alijah Vera-Tucker, G, $15,313,000
The starting right guard of the Jets earned a 77.7 PFF grade and is heading into his fifth season with the Jets. 2025 is the final year of his rookie contract, so there’s a solid chance the lineman could be the team’s highest-paid player in 2026.
#1 – Quinnen Williams, DT, $21,585,294
Quinnen Williams is the highest-paid player on the team. The pass rusher is a force but has trended down in recent years. At his most productive, he has cracked the dozen-sack club as recently as 2022.
