After briefly pivoting in order to compete for Super Bowls with Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets are back on the path to long-term growth. New head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey will build around Justin Fields for the next year or two, giving them time to assemble a winning team.
With star players like Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson still on their rookie contracts, though, who are the highest-paid players on the team?
The 10 Highest-Paid Players on the 2025 New York Jets Roster
Below is a list of the 10 New York Jets players currently set to make the most money in 2025. The list is based on each player’s cap number rather than weighing guarantees against potential earnings, etc. Figures are taken from Overthecap.com.
Quinnen Williams – $21,585,294
Quinnen Williams, the third overall pick in 2019, has backed up that draft capital with three straight Pro Bowl appearances since 2022. Williams is already the Jets’ most expensive player heading into 2025, and the team’s outlay for the player only increases each year. His cap number in the final year of his contract, 2027, currently sits at $30.4 million.
Alijah Vera-Tucker – $15,313,000
Two serious injuries, in back-to-back years, threatened to derail Alijah Vera-Tucker’s career during his rookie contract. The 14th overall pick in 2021, Vera-Tucker bounced back to record 15 starts in 2024. The Jets exercised the player’s fifth-year option, meaning he remains on his rookie deal as things stand.
Sauce Gardner – $10,643,436
Making it three-straight first-round picks, Sauce Gardner was taken fourth overall in 2022 and quickly made his presence felt as one of the league’s top cornerbacks. Like Vera-Tucker, Gardner had his fifth-year option exercised by the Jets, giving him a guaranteed salary of over $20 million in 2026.
Quincy Williams – $8,425,000
Quincy Williams was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived after just two seasons by the Jaguars, though, and the Jets snapped him up in free agency. Williams has been a near-ever-present in the team’s lineup since then. He did, however, hit free agency again in 2023, but re-signed with the Jets on his current deal, which expires next year.
Justin Fields – $8,000,000
Justin Fields’ career was handed a huge lifeline by the Jets back in March. With several free agent quarterbacks on the market, the Jets opted for a team-friendly deal with the former Chicago Bear.

Fields’ two-year contract includes $30 million guaranteed, with the potential for a further $10 million in 2026.
Tyrod Taylor – $6,800,000
Veteran journeyman quarterback Tyrod Taylor has played under center for seven different teams during his NFL career, including in two games for the Jets in 2024. Taylor signed a two-year contract with the team last year that guarantees him $2.5 million in 2025. While possibly on another team or retired, Taylor will count towards $2.4 million of the team’s salary cap in 2026, due to the three void years on his deal.
John Simpson – $6,690,000
Drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, the team’s first year in their new home, John Simpson found himself already on his third NFL team in 2024. He’d signed a two-year deal with the Jets and went on to start all 17 games in his first season with the team. Scheduled to hit free agency next year, Simpson will again have a point to prove in 2025.
Garrett Wilson – $6,539,911
The Jets’ second first-round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Garrett Wilson, has also had his fifth-year option exercised by the team. After sharing targets with Davante Adams in 2024, Wilson can expect to be the primary target for his former Ohio State teammate Justin Fields in 2025.
Wilson’s fifth-year option will see him earn almost $17 million in 2026, unless the two parties can agree on a long-term extension before then.
Armand Membou – $5,802,302
New York’s heavy turnover and emphasis on young talent means there are few significant contracts on their books. Subsequently, 2025 first-round tackle Armand Membou and his guaranteed contract make the cut.

He’ll be expected to start from the jump, replace Morgan Moses, and join Olu Fashanu as long-term bookends for the Jets’ offensive line.
Jamien Sherwood – $5,000,000
A fifth-round pick in 2021, Jamien Sherwood started at defensive back for the Jets but quickly transitioned to a full-time linebacker. Sherwood became a free agent in 2025 but was re-signed by the team on a three-year deal.
