Who Are the Jets-Giants Announcers? A Look At NFL Network’s Preseason Broadcast Team

Here's a look at the broadcast team for the preseason matchup between the New York Jets and New York Giants.

The 2025 NFL season is drawing near as the preseason is already underway. The New York Jets got off to a strong start, defeating the Green Bay Packers 30-10. The team had a solid all-around performance on both sides of the ball in its trip to Lambeau Field.

Meanwhile, the crosstown rival New York Giants traveled to Highmark Stadium, where they beat the Buffalo Bills 34-25. While both teams defeated postseason contenders, the preseason is more about evaluating players than final scores.

The two teams will face off in their annual preseason meeting this weekend. Here’s everything you need to know about the broadcast coverage.

Who Are the Game Announcers for the New York Jets vs. New York Giants?

The Jets’ broadcast crew will feature Ian Eagle on play-by-play. Former quarterback Mark Sanchez — who led the franchise to its only four postseason wins in the past 20 years and back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances — will serve as the color commentator.

The Giants’ broadcast crew will be led by Bob Papa on play-by-play. Former quarterback Phil Simms and linebacker Carl Banks — who both helped the franchise win its first two Super Bowls — will serve as color commentators. Former tight end Howard Cross, who was part of the latter Super Bowl run, will be the sideline reporter.

While both teams call MetLife Stadium home, the Giants will serve as the de facto home teamm, a role that alternates between the two teams every preseason. As the home team for the Week 2 preseason matchup, the Giants’ broadcast crew will be on the air nationally.

Both teams will have one more preseason game next weekend before opening the season on Sept. 7. The Jets will face the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Giants will face the New York Giants for their preseason finales, both scheduled for Aug. 22.
