NFL Analysts Slam Aaron Glenn for ‘Most Pathetic 2-Minute Drive’ As Winless Jets HC’s Seat Gets Hotter

Aaron Glenn is facing widespread criticism from NFL analysts after the decisions he made during the second half of their game against the Broncos.

The New York Jets have been trying to revive their franchise for years. After the failed Aaron Rodgers experiment, they decided to give former first-round pick Justin Fields a shot under center.

The Jets were 0-5 heading into their Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos in London, England. The Broncos are riding a hot streak after two wins in a row, including one against the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

While Jets fans have been frustrated for a long time, head coach Aaron Glenn is now catching the ire of NFL analysts for his decision-making against the Broncos.

What Are NFL Analysts Saying About Jets’ HC Aaron Glenn?

Heading into halftime in London, the Jets trailed the Broncos 10-6. As the clock ticked down in the second quarter, the expectation was that Glenn would put together a strong two-minute drive. But that wasn’t at all what happened.

As Zack Rosenblatt pointed out, “The Jets just ran out the clock before halftime rather than even making an attempt at throwing it down the field. Come on.”

Danny Perkins broke it down, “What a hilarious end of the half sequence for the Jets. Fake punt. Run up the middle. Throw over the middle. Let time expire. Big yikes.”

Mike Garafolo was basically speechless, as he wrote “Uhhh…” During the first half of the game, the Jets had just two first downs. That is the single lowest first-down total in a first half of the 2025 season.

“The Jets just had the most pathetic two-minute drive I’ve ever seen,” posted Ari Meirov.

Former Super Bowl winner turned announcer Kurt Warner said, “Somebody please explain that last Jets drive??? Not really sure what I just watched!”

Warner and Rich Eisen’s reaction surprised others, considering they have seen nearly everything in the NFL.

The Jets had only 32 yards in the first half of the game against the Broncos. That is the lowest of any NFL team this season. In addition, their 1.5 yards per play matched only the Eagles’ performance against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.

Dan Orlovsky said that he expects the players will be frustrated about Glenn’s decision-making before the half. “Garrett (Wilson) is going to absolutely lose his mind. Rightfully so What the heck was that?!??!”

Much like Jets fans, analysts began to point their fingers right at the head coach, placing all the blame on Glenn.

“That end of the half sequence didn’t exactly imbue one with confidence in Aaron Glenn’s game management skills at this point in his head coaching career,” said Nick Wright.

Before being hired in New York, Glenn was the highly successful defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. Now his tenure with the Jets might be in danger, according to Mike Maher. “Is Aaron Glenn going ot be one-and-done with the Jets?”

“Leave Glenn in London,” wrote a frustrated Jakob Sanderson. While it might have only been two minutes out of 60, with the way the Jets have been performing this season, it isn’t surprising that this is being viewed as an indictment of his abilities to lead the team.

The Jets lost 13-11 after more questionable play calling at the end of the game. They are now 0-6 to start the season, and their head coach is under immense pressure.

Glenn signed a five-year contract with the Jets, so moving on from him is less than ideal. There is a lot of season left to play, and if Glenn remains with the Jets, he has time to right the ship.
