Jayden Higgins’ NFL Draft Scouting Report
Jayden Higgins is a wide receiver known for his impressive size and reliable hands. After transferring from Eastern Kentucky to Iowa State, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2024 season, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors. Higgins excels in contested catch situations, utilizing his frame to shield defenders and secure the ball effectively.
He’s also a stellar overall athlete at 6’4″, 217 pounds, with eye-catching explosiveness and seam-stretching strides. On tape, Higgins has enough nuance and foot speed to separate on more rudimentary routes, but his lacking hip sink and flexibility does limit his route variance and consistency against press. As a movement-Z or big-slot receiver, he can make his money with strong hands, chain-moving conversion, and explosive RAC.

Jayden Higgins’ Latest NFL Draft Projection
PFSN’s Ian Cummings projected that Higgins would be picked 58th overall by the Denver Broncos in his latest seven-round mock draft.
Cummings said, “With the pick added in their Round 1 trade-down, the Steelers select Jayden Higgins as a sure-handed power-slot WR to join DK Metcalf — and hedge for a George Pickens deal.”

The Iowa State Cyclones have two WR prospects represented on our 2025 NFL Draft WR rankings. The first is Jayden Higgins, a former Eastern Kentucky transfer who distinguished himself in 2024 with 87 catches for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns.
Higgins’ size and production alone made him an eye-catching player, and the NFL Combine rounded out his profile. He boasts 4.47 speed, a 39″ vertical, and a 10’8″ broad jump at 6’4″, 217 pounds, and on paper, all of the components of a future WR1 are there.
Higgins doesn’t have elite hip flexibility, which can impact his sink and route transitioning at times, and he also provides relatively little in the RAC phase. But he’s a top-end physical talent, a nuanced separator, and an elite hands-catcher with clutch conversion ability.
