For the Washington Commanders quarterback, it’s his mother, Regina Jackson, who’s been in his corner, sometimes literally, every step of the way. From college battles to pro spotlight, Jackson’s support never wavers. But what happens when your mom is also your agent, business partner, and biggest fan?
How Has Regina Jackson Shaped Jayden Daniels’ Commanders’ Journey?
Watching closely from the stands or the sidelines, Jackson has built a reputation for fiercely backing her son. Over the past few years, she made it a point to be there for every football game, even as Daniels made the jump from college fields to bright NFL lights. Determined to support at every level, Jackson went as far as learning how to be a certified agent.
Daniels doesn’t take that commitment for granted; the two often share their bond on social media, reminding fans just how tight-knit their relationship is. In a recent interview, the Commanders’ young star opened up about his mother’s influence and constant presence.
On “Inside Training Camp Live,” Daniels was asked about his mom, who was right there beside him for the interview.

“She does alright,” Daniels joked at first, but quickly added: “Nah, I’m playing.”
Later, he shared more about what makes Jackson special: “She’s a mom first. She’s always going to be there to, you know, uplift me. But, you know, if I’m doing wrong, she gon’ let me know, so, even though I’m 24 years old…I’m still a grown man, but I still gotta listen to my mom at some point.”
Jackson, of course, had her own perspective when asked about watching her son’s rise: “I’m very proud, you know…proud of him. The athlete. The man you guys see. And, you know, you always need your mommas around.”
Still, Jackson admitted she hasn’t been attending every training camp session.
This wasn’t the first time Daniels spoke about his mom looking out for him. In a previous interview with “SportsCenter,” he summed up their relationship: “That’s my dawg, man. I love my mom. She crazy…she’s very protective but I mean, that’s what mother’s do…She supports me through it all, and I wouldn’t want to have any other mom ever.”

Over recent months, Jackson’s journey hasn’t stopped at being a sideline supporter. She has now carved out her own path, gaining traction as a certified NFLPA agent.

Alongside supporting Daniels, Jackson now uses her skills to run Athletes in Control, her own business venture. Being both a certified agent and co-founder of a company, she is setting a new standard for family involvement in pro football careers.
During a 2024 interview with CBS Sports, a PR specialist explained why certification was so key for Jackson: “It’s important for her to have all that knowledge so she can give her son guidance, which will help him focus on the field, and she can help focus off the field for him.”
Plus, Jackson isn’t just present for Daniels; she’s a familiar face within the Commanders organization, always rooting for not only her son but the entire team and its ownership.
