Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants took another loss in Week 9, this time against the San Francisco 49ers. Interestingly, 49ers fans made headlines due to how they took over MetLife Stadium.
It’s unusual for a regular-season game to be dominated by an away team’s fans, especially fans from the opposite side of the continent, and Dart was asked about it after the game.

Jaxson Dart Is Taken Aback by 49ers Fans in Week 9 Loss at Home
NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted an interview clip from the postgame press conference, where Dart was asked for his thoughts on the number of Niners fans at the Giants-49ers game on Sunday.
“That was interesting,” the quarterback said. “I’ve never played at a home game where I felt like it was kind of lopsided in that department. But, you know, they have a good fan base, and they traveled well.”
San Francisco certainly benefited from its significant fan support in East Rutherford. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and his men took the Giants to task in the Week 9 matchup, beating them 34-24.
Dart and company looked competitive in the first quarter after they drove down the field on their opening possession to take a 7-0 lead, with a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Theo Johnson.
However, the Niners didn’t leave the quarter quietly. Quarterback Mac Jones, replacing the injured Brock Purdy, tied the game ahead of the second period with a short scoring throw to running back Christian McCaffrey.
Things started coming apart for Giants coach Brian Daboll and his men in the second quarter. Neither the offense nor the defense could establish itself, as Shanahan’s squad tacked on 10 more points via a touchdown grab by Jauan Jennings and a field goal by Eddy Pineiro.
The 49ers’ 17-7 lead at halftime set the plot for the second 30 minutes. While Pineiro added three more for the Niners with a 33-yard shot, the Giants’ Graham Gano made it 20-10 with a 22-yard chip shot.
New York finally found its rhythm in the fourth quarter. However, its 10-point setback from the second came back to bite Daboll’s team. While Dart rushed for a touchdown and found Gunner Olszewski deep downfield for another score, Shanahan’s run schemes matched them, with Brian Robinson and McCaffrey each finding the end zone to please their many fans in MetLife.
Dart and the Giants still have much to figure out in order to get back into the winning column next week against the Chicago Bears.
