Potential Landing Spots for Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft

1. New York Jets

Though the Jets made a $40 million commitment to Justin Fields, the lack of long-term security makes quarterback a continuing need. Fields’ deal only spans two years, and with Aaron Rodgers no longer in the picture, the Jets must consider future stability at the position.

Dart offers developmental upside, coming off a 4,279-yard, 29-touchdown season at Ole Miss. His mobility and physical frame (6’2″, 220 lbs) align well with a new offense under construction. He may not be NFL-ready yet, especially with questions surrounding his progressions and ability to handle pressure. Still, he fits as a long-term investment behind Fields with clear starter potential.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh’s quarterback room is in flux, with Russ͏ell Wilson ͏and Justin Fields occupying short͏-term roles.͏ ͏The ͏Steelers͏ struggled to͏ protect the ͏passer in 2024, posting the ͏NF͏L’s fifth-worst sack rate (8.9%͏). In that context,͏ Dart’s mobility and R͏PO experience ͏become valuable assets. ͏

His dual-threat capabilities can keep defenses honest and͏ ease pressure on a͏ shaky offensive line. Though ͏his ͏mechanics and deep-͏ball͏ accuracy need refinement, his poise and willingness ͏to absorb hits speak to Pittsburgh’s historical preference for tough, gritty ͏signal-callers. Dart could initially sit while developing behind veteran options, eventually taking the reins of a retooled offense.

3. Los Angeles Rams

With Matthew Stafford returning for 2025, the Rams don’t face immediate quarterback pressure. However, Stafford turns 37 this season, and succession planning is a priority. Dart would benefit immensely from learning behind a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and operating within Sean McVay’s structured system.

The Rams boast strong supporting talent – Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams, which could ease Dart’s eventual transition. Given his background in a fast-paced offense that limits pre-snap reads, time behind Stafford would allow Dart to acclimate to NFL responsibilities like full-field reads and on-field play adjustments without being rushed into action.

Jaxson Dart is far from polished, but his tools – mobility, toughness, and competitive edge, make him an intriguing developmental project. In a thin quarterback class, teams like the Jets, Steelers, and Rams may see enough upside to justify a Day 1 or early Day 2 selection.
