When news broke prior to NFL Week 7 that Brandon Graham could consider unretiring, many began to wonder if the Philadelphia Eagles could get the band back together. If Graham returned, Jason Kelce would be the final missing piece of the puzzle. Kelce heard fans’ pleas and addressed them with a definitive answer.
Jason Kelce Addresses Speculation That He Could Come Out of Retirement
The Eagles are strong enough currently without either of those two, but Kelce drew a line in the sand on his retirement status. Just because Graham has considered unretiring, that doesn’t mean Kelce has to as well.
The 37-year-old enjoyed a successful NFL career with the Eagles from 2011-23. After numerous Super Bowl appearances, he reached the ultimate high when his team won Super Bowl 52. The seven-time Pro-Bowler has always been linked to the Eagles if he were to un-retire, but that will not be the case.

Adam Schefter posted his article about the Brandon Graham news, to which someone tagged Kelce. They asked the six-time First-team All-Pro center if he was busy, to which Kelce simply responded, “Very.”
Since retiring, fans have been able to enjoy Kelce and his brother, Travis, each and every week as part of their “New Heights” podcast. The two continue to discuss all things NFL-related and have featured guests from the likes of Taylor Swift to Deion Sanders. Elsewhere, Kelce is finally able to enjoy his life at home and not have to endure the grueling process that comes with playing in the National Football League.
Kelce started 193 games in his career, all of which happened to be with the Eagles. He remained loyal to that franchise throughout his career, dating back to 2011 when they drafted him No. 191 overall. The Cincinnati graduate continues to appear on ESPN as an analyst, one of the many things that are keeping him “busy”.
While Kelce may not like to hear it, the Eagles have been just fine without him. That takes nothing away from what he did in his NFL career, but it’s rather a testament to how strong a team they truly are. Even though Kelce is no longer part of their signature “tush-push”, the team continues to execute and has perfected one of the most controversial plays in the league.
Travis may soon join his brother Jason in retirement, though further light will be shed on that situation after this season. Jason’s retirement has no direct indications as to what Travis will do for the remainder of his career.
