Bengals Star Ja’Marr Chase Drops 10-Word Recruiting Message to Former LSU Teammate Justin Jefferson

Ja'Marr Chase took to Twitch to let fans know that he is fully capable of recruiting Justin Jefferson to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase has had a great offseason so far, kickstarted by his signing of a massive extension to remain in Cincinnati. As the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, Chase has a big role to play in the future of the Bengals alongside teammates Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins, who are also on large contracts.

But Chase wants to recruit more talent to come play with the Bengals’ superstar trio — he wants to get college teammate Justin Jefferson to join him and Burrow once again to try and win a championship and recreate the success they saw at LSU.

Ja’Marr Chase’s Recruiting Efforts on Justin Jefferson

Chase would love to reunite with Jefferson. They dominated college football in 2019 together and are two of the best wide receivers in the NFL. They would be the best receiver duo in the league by a wide margin. If you count Higgins, that group is likely one of the best trios of all time. As improbable as it may be, Chase still told fans on a stream that he can get Jefferson to Cincinnati.

“I could get Justin [Jefferson] to come to the Bengals, y’all,” Chase said on Twitch about recruiting Jefferson to Cincinnati.

This was very likely a joke, as Chase was playing Call of Duty with friends on a live stream when he “broke” that news, but does it hold any weight? He told his chat that he could get Jefferson to the Bengals now that he’s going to be there for the coming years, and they’re paying him about $40 million per season.

This deserved financial security and commitment the Bengals have given to Chase may give him some added incentive to hit the recruiting trail.

It would take some extreme moves to get Jefferson to Cincinnati. The price would be record-setting, and with the salary cap, it’s hard to imagine how this could work without sacrificing the newly extended Higgins. But for Chase, it never hurts to try.

Imagining Jefferson With Chase and Joe Burrow

Fans don’t have to imagine what Chase, Burrow, and Jefferson would look like together. Their dominance in college football in 2019 at LSU was unprecedented. Burrow set records almost every week as Chase and Jefferson torched opposing cornerbacks. The result of this trio is the 2019 LSU Tigers being in the conversation for the best college football team of all time.

They would look slightly different in the NFL — but maybe even better. Jefferson and Chase have established themselves as two of the best receivers in the league, and their growth in the few years they’ve been in the league is even greater than what analysts imagined.

Burrow continues to post huge numbers without a solidified offensive line, and he would undoubtedly be the best quarterback Jefferson has played with in the NFL.

This dream trio would be a must-watch for NFL fans. Burrow would almost certainly see his MVP odds jump significantly, and the Bengals would be considered AFC favorites as they look to topple the Kansas City Chiefs.

Even if this scenario doesn’t break down the way Chase would love it to, the Bengals are still projected to have a prolific offense this season. For now, fans will have to keep imagining these three together.
