The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs offered some truly exciting games, with most of the outings coming down to the final minutes. As a result, there was a ton for the football fan to chew on over the course of the weekend. But an unlikely moment became a major player in the spotlight.
At the post-game press conference, head coach Liam Coen of the Jacksonville Jaguars was on the receiving end of a unique interaction. The exchange came courtesy of Lynn Jones, who immediately went viral on social media. Her gentle demeanour, though, wasn’t a one-off, as Kevin Hart found out soon enough.

Facing the Buffalo Bills, the Jaguars had a chance to pull off the upset or at least take the game to overtime. However, a late interception from Trevor Lawrence ended the game immediately, ending a promising year for the franchise.
After the game, though, it was Jones’ comments to Coen that caught social media by storm. Rather than asking for his insight or thought process on the game, the Jaguars Free Press reporter waxed lyrical about the turnaround he had effected in his first season as a head coach.
“I’m going to tell you, congratulations on your success, young man. You hold your head up. You guys have had a most magnificent season. You did a great job out there today. You just hold your head up, OK? Ladies and gentlemen, Duval. You keep it going. We got another season.”
The interaction immediately went viral across NFL, with fans and other media members chipping in about the nature of the conversation between the two. Now, though, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the soft, good-natured stance is the position Jones continually holds.
The next person to receive that treatment from her was Hart. A legendary stand-up comedian, producer, and actor, he has carved out his own legacy as one of the most prominent mainstream stars in the industry today.
However, despite being nominated for the best stand-up show on television, he lost out to Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes to start the year. Still, Jones remained undeterred. Talking to him on the Sports on Prime show, she had similarly evocative support for the comedy icon.
“I just want to tell you, ‘Keep your head up, young man,'” she began. Breaking down some of his most iconic film roles, she praised every attribute associated with him. “You hosted major award shows, you are a comedian, a host, and a father, but you got to stay in the game.”
She added, “You support all educational initiatives and community programs, particularly in underserved communities. You, Kevin, continue to balance comedy, acting, entrepreneurship, and executive producing while expanding your media footprint.”
As the support remained unmoved, it was clear that her words got to Hart as well, who appeared emotional after her praise. As she’s made kindness and a complimentary styler her niche in the journalism world, it’s clear that she’s having the right kind of impact on the stars she is interviewing.
