Cornerback Jabbar Muhammad has been a lynchpin in the Washington Huskies’ defense in 2023. The Huskies march to the National Championship Game on the backs of their offensive prowess but have seen plenty of strong play by Muhammad and their defense.
While he has always shown promise, the 2023 season has seen Muhammad emerge as a talent that excited NFL Draft evaluators. Having spent just one season with Washington, is Muhammad draft-eligible in 2024?
When Can Jabbar Muhammad Declare for the NFL Draft?
Muhammad is a junior and is eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft. He has only played a lone season at Washington, yet his draft stock is at an all-time high.
Having only played the 2023 season with Washington, Muhammad has been able to elevate his draft status and has been one of the biggest risers in the class.
After spending his first three seasons with Oklahoma State, Muhammad decided to enter the transfer portal a year ago and enrolled with the Huskies to participate in spring practices in 2023. He started every game of the season for Washington and has 44 total tackles, five for a loss, and two sacks.
Muhammad also has three interceptions, 15 passes deflected, and one fumble return.
It is an incredible increase in production for Muhammad, who totaled 71 total tackles, one interception, and 12 passes deflected in his three seasons with Oklahoma State.
Muhammad joined Oklahoma State out of DeSoto High School in Texas as a four-star recruit. He played in 31 games but only started 13 in his three seasons in Stillwater.
His talent was always recognized, being named to College Football Network’s 2022 All-Big 12 Second Team.

As a potential NFL Draft prospect, Muhammad is undersized and is listed at just 5’10” and 183 pounds.
However, he makes up for his lack of size with his skill set.
Muhammad is an ultra-competitive corner who is extremely mobile and fluid. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and is aggressive when attacking the football.
On the PFN 2024 NFL Draft Big Board, Muhammad is currently ranked 148th and is seen as a Day 3 prospect.
However, he is a name to keep an eye on in this class, as his draft stock is carrying real momentum.
It is unlikely that Muhammad will challenge the top of the 2024 NFL Draft cornerback rankings that include Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Nate Wiggins. However, Muhammad could be a great pick-up on Day 3 if he decides to declare.
