A message posted from his own Instagram account looked unusual to fans, prompting immediate speculation about who was behind it. His wife, Annah Tagovailoa, soon stepped in to explain what happened, though the response online was anything but quiet.

The confusion started after Tua shared an Instagram carousel featuring photos from training camp and preseason. The caption simply read, “For the A.”
Soon after, his official account posted an encouraging message under the same post: “We’re so proud of you!! You got this ❤️.”
Because the comment came from Tua’s own account, fans joked that the quarterback had accidentally used a burner account to encourage himself.
Annah moved to settle the speculation, taking responsibility for the mix-up. She said Tua had previously made it clear that he does not personally handle his social media, with Annah posting on his behalf.
Annah wrote, “No burner account! I was busy with the kids this morning and forgot to switch back to my account. He’s busy at work, as he’s said he doesn’t have social media, and I post on his behalf! Will pay more attention next time.”

With the regular season approaching, another fan saw the whole episode as some welcome entertainment, writing, “Great way to kill the time between the pre-season and Game 1.”
But Annah’s attempt to close the story drew one more jab from a commenter, who replied, “You’re making things worse.”
The social media episode comes while Atlanta faces a far more consequential decision at quarterback. The Falcons have yet to name their Week 1 starter between Tua and Michael Penix Jr.
Tua received most first-team reps during training camp after signing a one-year, $1.3 million contract, but Penix has made up ground since returning from his ACL injury.
Atlanta, a team that placed 20th in PFN NFL Offense Impact rankings last year, plans to continue splitting first-team reps before its Sept. 13 opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
