Tetairoa McMillan is one of the most hyped-up receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft class and is a consensus first-round pick. The receiver has three siblings, and many fans are wondering whether Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan is related to him, given their similar last names.
Is Tetairoa McMillan Related to Jalen McMillan?
No, Tetairoa and Jalen are not related — they just happen to share the same last name. Tetairoa was born to Wyatt Sr. and Shawny McMillan in Waimānalo, Hawaii, while Jalen was raised by his mother, Belinda McMillan Haener, in Fresno, California, alongside two siblings, Carter and Lauren.
Jalen played college football at Washington, finishing with 2,143 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns over his four-year career. The Bucs selected him with the 92nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he posted 37 receptions for 461 yards and eight touchdowns.
Tetairoa McMillan’s Siblings
Tetairoa is the youngest of four children. He has a brother named Wyatt McMillan and two sisters, Alexis and Kiana. Kiana is reportedly married and has three children.
While there isn’t much public information available about McMillan’s parents, his mom, Shawny, has been a regular at his games. She was overjoyed when he declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
“What a journey it has been. So many things to be grateful for and to say, I am proud is an understatement. No words can describe only tears….tears of joy,” she wrote on X.
McMillan was one of the top-ranked players in his recruiting class and ended up as a high four-star recruit. He had offers from nearly every major program but chose Arizona, in part, because his high school quarterback, Noah Fifita, was also heading there.
He made an immediate impact as a true freshman, quickly becoming a go-to target and setting the school record for most receiving yards by a true freshman with 702.
McMillan really broke out as a sophomore, earning All-American honors and racking up 1,402 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He kept it going as a junior, finishing as a Biletnikoff Award finalist with 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns.
Now 21 years old, McMillan heads into the 2025 NFL Draft as one of the top receivers — and overall prospects — in the class. It’s admittedly a weaker receiver group than in recent years, but McMillan would be a top-tier talent in any draft. In PFSN’s latest mock draft, he’s projected to go 11th overall to the San Francisco 49ers.
