After nine years of waiting, Jared Allen finally got his gold jacket. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last month.
But as he walked across that stage, the most important people in his life watched from the audience: his wife Amy and their two daughters. It wasn’t just Allen’s moment; it was theirs, too.
Who Is Jared Allen’s Wife, Amy Jackson?
Though he’s kept much of his personal life out of the spotlight, legendary Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has occasionally offered fans a look into his family life.
The 43-year-old is married to Amy Allen (formerly Jackson), and the two have shared more than a decade together. They tied the knot in 2010, making 2025 their 15th wedding anniversary.
The couple exchanged vows in downtown Chicago —Â Amy is reportedly from nearby Arlington Heights, Illinois. Allen’s proposal story perfectly captures his personality. He apparently proposed to Amy in his truck before leaving for a hunting trip. However, he made headlines for one major sacrifice ahead of their wedding: trimming his iconic mullet.
Speaking to Vikings.com in 2010, Allen said, “The things men do for love.” Allen’s Twitter account is now deleted, but his personality is just as infectious.

Former teammate and linebacker Ben Leber reflected on Allen after his Hall of Fame announcement in a July 2025 interview, noting that Amy came to know a transformed version of her husband.
“I hate to admit it,” Leber told The Athletic, “but he wasn’t shy. He was not shy in the locker room. I’m not sure (Allen’s wife) Amy is going to love these stories, but she didn’t meet Jared 1.0. She met Jared 2.0.”
Additionally, Amy was also the one to suggest his memorable ‘riding off into the sunset’ retirement idea.
How Many Children Do the Allens Have?
Married for 15 years, Allen and Amy have two daughters: Brinley and Lakelyn. Brinley, their eldest daughter, was born in 2011.

In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Allen opened up about becoming a girl dad and how it changed him.
“I think my kids have definitely humbled me and balanced me out, and all that good stuff,” he explains. “When you’re a girl dad, my wife always reminds me, ‘Tone matters’. So just in general, being surrounded by women, you automatically become a better communicator.”
The former NFL star made sure to credit Amy, who constantly reminds him what matters most while raising their daughters.
While Allen left a lasting mark on the NFL and helped shape the modern edge rusher role, it’s clear that his greatest focus now lies with his family, which has become his top priority.
