Shedeur Sanders was widely considered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he ended up slipping to the fifth round. Sanders threw a star-studded party after the Cleveland Browns made him the 144th overall pick, and it included multiple bags full of cash.
Let’s examine who was there and what went down.

Shedeur Sanders Throws Extravagant Draft Party
Sanders was considered QB2 in this year’s class, but his free fall began when the New York Giants traded up to select Jaxson Dart at No. 25. Many teams and draft experts were split on how Sanders would transition to the NFL, and his stock fell late in the pre-draft process.
His on-field production spoke for itself. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns while leading FBS with a 74.0% completion rate in 2024. However, there were concerns about his arm strength and average athleticism. Many pundits recognized his toughness and pinpoint accuracy, but weren’t sure his overall game would translate to the next level.
Falling out of the first round wasn’t totally unexpected, especially after the Pittsburgh Steelers passed at No. 21, but dropping to No. 144 was. The former Colorado signal-caller was the face of the 2025 NFL Draft and has had a media circus following him for most of his pre-draft process.
It’s typical for big-name prospects who don’t attend the draft to throw parties once their NFL dream is realized. Sanders followed suit, but had an over-the-top event attended by multiple celebrities and current NFL players.
TMZ Sports broke down the party and listed some of the guests. The event was held at a popular Dallas, TX restaurant, Hyde & Seek, and Sanders showed up wearing a tank top and a Browns hat.
DJ Hollyhood Bay Bay hosted the event, and TMZ reported rapper Yung Miami was in attendance. Other artists attending were Kodak Black, Shenseea, and Loe Shimmy. Current Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were also there, according to TMZ.
The most outrageous thing to note was what Sanders was allegedly gifted during the party.

His brother, Deion Sanders Jr., responded to the tweet with one of his own to clear up any confusion over the bags of cash.
Let’s tell the correct story now…
It was actually a gift that he received….
and it was a million. https://t.co/pKc4XH9awJ— Deion Sanders Jr (@DeionSandersJr) April 28, 2025
He tweeted, “Let’s tell the correct story now… It was actually a gift that he received…. and it was a million.” Sanders performed his rap song “Perfect Timing” for the crowd, and hopes that Browns fans will receive him as well as his party-goers did. His father, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, was not in attendance
The Browns essentially made a risk-free pick by selecting Sanders in the fifth round. The media circus is sure to follow, but such a cheap investment can be easily released if Sanders doesn’t play well or Cleveland doesn’t care for the extra noise that comes with him.
