What to expect from the 2022 Senior Bowl

While only featuring seniors limits the pool, the talent across the board at the 2022 Senior Bowl is enthralling. While it does not seem likely a quarterback will be selected in the first few picks of the 2022 NFL Draft, the QBs receiving some late first-round buzz should see some considerable action today.

UNC QB Sam Howell and Liberty QB Malik Willis will go under center for the American Team. Meanwhile, Pitt QB Kenny Pickett will start for the National Team.

While the QB play can be a tantalizing draw, some other players have stood out elsewhere on the field and boosted their draft stock. According to PFN’s Chief Draft Analyst Tony Pauline, Baylor safety Jalen Pitre has shown he’s more than just a run defender at the Senior Bowl practices. The hybrid linebacker/safety was fantastic in coverage drills and proved his ball skills are in line with his in-the-box run defense.

Alabama RB Brian Robinson Jr. also turned heads at the 2022 Senior Bowl this week, which can be difficult to do as a running back. Robinson sat in a crowded backfield in Alabama for years before finally starting in 2021. As a pass catcher, the Crimson Tide RB impressed in individual drills on Wednesday. Due to the lack of contact during practices, showing out in other areas can only add to Robinson’s draft stock.
