How To Listen to Chiefs-Giants: Radio Stations, Date, Time, More for Week 3 SNF Game

Here's how fans can catch the action on radio when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Giants in the Week 3 Sunday Night Football clash.

For the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, the Kansas City Chiefs have started a season 0-2, marking an unprecedented start since Mahomes became the starting quarterback in 2018. They head on the road for a prime-time Sunday Night Football showdown against the New York Giants, but will be without wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who has been ruled out of Week 3 due to a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, the Giants are coming off a tough overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, where veteran quarterback Russell Wilson pulled off a special performance. He completed 30 of 41 passes for 450 yards and three touchdowns and has likely earned a couple of weeks as the unquestionable starter with Jaxson Dart waiting in the wings.
While the Chiefs may be natural favorites, they have never beaten the Giants on the road, losing all seven away matchups since 1978 — the only team to hold Kansas City winless on the road. That sets up an exciting SNF clash with both Chiefs and Giants needing a win while also desperate to avoid a 0-3 start. Here’s how fans can catch the action.

Which Radio Stations Will Broadcast the Chiefs vs. Giants Game?

Kansas City Chiefs Radio

The fan base can listen to 96.5 The Fan (KFNZ-FM) on the Chiefs broadcast network to catch all the action. Mitch Holthus serves as the play-by-play announcer, while former Chiefs wide receiver Danan Hughes wears the color commentator hat alongside Josh Klingler as the sideline reporter.

Nicknamed the “Voice of the Chiefs,” Holthus continues as the team’s play-by-play announcer for his 32nd NFL season, the longest tenure in Kansas City history. He called the action during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV, LVII, and LVIII championship runs.

Hughes, on the other hand, played for Kansas City from 1993 to 1998 as a wide receiver and on the special teams while sharing the field with legends such as Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Derrick Thomas, Will Shields, and Tony Gonzalez. He has been part of the Chiefs Radio Network since July 2020.

New York Giants Radio

The major options for fans looking to tune into the Giants’ broadcast network are WFAN 101.9 FM and 660 AM in New York City. In addition to the two flagship stations, Giants fans can also catch the audio coverage of the matchup on 13 additional affiliates across New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

With kickoff scheduled at 8:20 p.m., the pregame broadcast will start at 11:30 a.m., with Bob Papa as play-by-play announcer, alongside Carl Banks as the studio analyst, and Howard Cross reporting from the sidelines. The trio has held these roles since 2008.

Papa, the “Voice of the Giants” since 1995, has been a constant presence in the Giants booth for almost three decades and has become synonymous with the franchise. Banks, a former Giants linebacker, was selected in the first round of 1984 and played a key role in the team’s Super Bowl XXI and XXV victories.

Cross is another name that bleeds New York. He spent 13 seasons with the Giants as a tight end, ranking third in all-time appearances for the franchise. After retiring from the gridiron in 2001 as a 1x Super Bowl champion, Cross transitioned into broadcasting, bringing his on-field experience to the sidelines for his former team.
