How Many People Watched Super Bowl 59?

The Chiefs’ dream of a three-peat slipped away as Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts put on a show to win Super Bowl 59 with a 40-22 score. The Chiefs’ super duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce dropped a stinker and made multiple mistakes against a commendable Eagles squad.

A record 126 million viewers watched the Eagles take home the glory by avenging their Super Bowl 57 loss against the Chiefs. President Donald Trump, soccer star Lionel Messi, and music icon Taylor Swift were some of the big names who enjoyed the mega event from the stands.

Kendrick Lamar made history by becoming the first solo hip-hop artist to headline the halftime show during Feb. 9’s championship game. Fans in the stadium and viewers watching from home enjoyed the electrifying performance at home.

Hurts and Barkley put on a show to lead the Eagles to glory. The Eagles quarterback exited the Super Bowl gridiron to a roar from the crowd after throwing for 221 yards and two scores, all the while running for 72 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Although Barkley’s performance didn’t accurately reflect his regular-season brilliance, recording just 57 rushing yards on 25 carries, he did contribute in the passing game, adding 40 receiving yards on six receptions.

On the other hand, the Chiefs’ star duo underperformed. Kelce finished with only four catches for 39 yards, and the Eagles managed to hold him to zero catches in the first half.

Mahomes completed 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 257 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Super Bowl 60 will take place in Santa Clara, California — where the San Francisco 49ers play next season — on Feb. 8, 2026.

Levi’s Stadium last hosted the Super Bowl in 2016. The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos competed in Super Bowl 50, with the latter coming out on top.

The NFL would hope to break more viewership records in the coming season. It would be interesting to see if the Eagles go on to build their dynasty or if we will see a new champion next year.
