The Los Angeles Chargers pulled away in the second half to take down their divisional foe, the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Herbert Injury Update

Herbert is confident that the injury will not cause him to miss any time. He left the game for only a few plays before returning for the remainder of the contest.

It is his left hand that won’t affect his ability to throw or grip the ball. Herbert is preparing to take the field in a huge matchup against the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I’m treating it as if I’m playing Monday,” said Herbert.

Herbert is reportedly set to get surgery on Monday to address the issue. It shouldn’t affect him that much, but there is a world where he cannot return within a week to play against Philadelphia. One doctor on X is wary of a potential return in Week 14 and potentially beyond, as well.

“Oh boy. Hopefully this doesn’t lead to (much) missed time. Snaps will be main concern given it’s his left hand, but plan to be without him for week 14 and possibly longer,” said the doctor.

Herbert is the key piece to the Chargers’ offense. Losing him would be catastrophic for Los Angeles, and if the star quarterback can tough through the injury, then he will.

Herbert’s ability to finish the game despite fracturing his hand in the first quarter is a good sign for his potential status. He’s not worried about missing time because the doctors are confident that he won’t be out long.

“It’s one of those things where you just stabilize it. … I’m not the doctor, but yeah, they were hopeful. So I think that’s a good thing,” said Herbert.

The Chargers have a massive game against the Eagles, who are coming off a tough loss. Los Angeles needs to keep pace in the AFC West race, and the struggling Eagles offense could be exactly what the Chargers want to face next week.

The Chargers should be playoff-bound, but they must finish the year strong, and having Herbert on the field is crucial. According to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor, Los Angeles currently has a 64.40% chance of making the postseason.
