From the moment the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett, rumors emerged that Aaron Donald could come out of retirement to join him. Given multiple chances to shoot down such rumors, Donald hasn’t done anything to squash the movement.
Neither has head coach Sean McVay, who was Donald’s head coach when the Rams won Super Bowl LVI. By all accounts, everyone seems on board with the future Hall of Famer returning to the team’s defensive line, where he’d now join another player set to someday get a bronze bust in Canton.
Now the Donald rumors just got a lot more fuel.
NFL World Reacts to Aaron Donald’s Rams Workout
Recently, TMZ Sports captured footage of Donald working out at the Rams’ team facility.
Now 35 years old, Donald’s workout reportedly lasted for roughly an hour until he got “gassed.” He was seen doing “ladder drills, medicine ball throws, and agility work.”
Ever since the footage emerged online, the internet hasn’t stopped reacting to the eight-time All-Pro getting back in action.
The Athletic’s Ted Nguyen said, “I believe it’s 80/20 he comes back. Third down is going to be a headache against the Rams.”

As great as the Rams could be on paper, the games still take place on the gridiron. Yet, one reaction suggested that other teams don’t stand a chance if Donald returns for an 11th NFL season.

While Donald practically lives in the gym and clearly has kept in tip-top shape ever since his retirement at the end of the 2023 season, doing field work is different than squats or lifting dumbbells.
Rams Up Podcast’s Ian wrote on X, “Look…#Rams Fans have known Aaron Donald has a “gym membership” to the Rams Facility, to workout whenever he wants for the past 2 Years. But… On the field workouts are different than lifting Weights…🤔”

As they say, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Could the Donald comeback really be happening?

Rams fans sure would love to see No. 99 back on the gridiron again. Even though he’s missed two full seasons, if anyone can do it, it’s probably the eight-time All-Pro.

Now all the Rams need to do is get him to sign on the dotted line. With Donald and Garrett, the Rams would have arguably the most feared defensive line tandem in the NFL. Good luck to offensive linemen in the NFC West, and everyone else on the Rams’ schedule this season.
