Fans rarely get a halftime performance during a regular-season Week 11 football game, but they will get to experience one at the New York Jets vs. New England Patriots game on Thursday Night Football.
The game is in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and the Patriots are hosting a country duo for the show. Here’s what fans need to know about Thursday Night Football’s halftime performance on Amazon Prime Video.
The Halftime Show for the Jets-Patriots Game and Rob Gronkowski
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Patriots great Rob Gronkowski signed a one-day deal with the team to retire as a Patriot.
Gronkowski retired as one of the greatest tight ends of all time. He spent most of his career with the Patriots before coming out of retirement to reunite with Tom Brady for two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The four-time Super Bowl champion finished his career with 621 receptions for 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl five times and was named All-Pro four times during his career.
He will also serve as the “Keeper of the Light,” ringing the fog bell before the game’s kickoff. Additionally, he will address the crowd at halftime and introduce the halftime performers, LOCASH.
LOCASH is an American country duo formed by Chris Lucas and Preston Brust. The duo came together in the mid-2000s and is known for a sound that mixes country with rock and pop. Over the years, they’ve earned several chart-topping hits, including “I Love This Life,” “I Know Somebody,” and “One Big Country Song,” all of which have become fan favorites.
LOCASH has shared the stage with some of the genre’s biggest names, such as Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. Their shows are known for their fun and high-energy atmosphere. Additionally, they’ve been nominated for major country awards, including Country Music Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards.
Known for their fan connections and energy, Lucas and Brust bring a lively atmosphere to wherever they perform, which should make for a memorable halftime show on a cold night in Foxborough.
