Giants vs. Dolphins Prediction, Pick: Who wins in Week 13?

Miami is fighting for a playoff spot while New York may turn to its backup QB. Here's our pick and prediction for Giants vs. Dolphins.

Week 13 gives us a matchup between two teams that have struggled throughout the 2021 season. The New York Giants are only 4-7, but they’re coming off of a big win over the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. The Miami Dolphins are 5-7 this year, but they’ve won four consecutive games and look significantly better with a healthy Tua Tagovailoa in the lineup. Below, you can find the NFL odds along with a Giants vs. Dolphins prediction and pick.

New York Giants vs. Miami Dolphins pick, prediction | Week 13

  • Spread: Dolphins -5 (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
  • Moneyline: Giants +190, Dolphins -235
  • Over/Under: 40.5

Daniel Jones played through a neck strain last week, but he’s now listed as week to week. Even though he toughed out the injury in his last game, it looks as if Jones is going to sit this weekend.

Mike Glennon is the backup and in line to start for New York against Miami this week. He’s seen mixed results throughout his career, but he hasn’t found much success since his sophomore season in 2016.

Glennon is only 6-21 in his career, and he hasn’t won a start since 2017 with the Chicago Bears. He started five games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, posting 1,072 yards with 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

In limited snaps this season, Glennon’s struggles have been more of the same. He recorded 196 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions on 25 pass attempts against the Dallas Cowboys.

Miami utilizes odd defensive looks, such as blitzing defensive backs, making it difficult for opposing quarterbacks to get reads early in the play clock. The Dolphins also rank in the top 10 in takeaways per game (1.6), and it’s unlikely Glennon will find much success in this spot start.

Giants vs. Dolphins betting trends

Both of these teams have found success against the spread (ATS) this season. They’ve both covered in 54.6% of their games, with Miami having one ATS tie this season.

The Dolphins are on a great streak, though, covering in each of their games on their four-game win streak. They’ve won outright as underdogs in two of those four games as well.

The Giants have also been playing well, though, covering the spread in four of their last five games. They’ve won three of those games outright as underdogs.

Each of these teams has found the under more often than not this season. New York’s hit the under in 70% of their games, while Miami’s found it in 58.3% of theirs. Overall, these teams have combined for an 8-14-1 over/under record.

Giants vs. Dolphins prediction

Both of these teams have quietly been playing well in recent weeks. With that being said, the Dolphins are getting healthy while the Giants are likely without their starting quarterback.

Glennon hasn’t been effective in the NFL in years, and I don’t expect him to be able to figure out Miami’s complex defense this weekend. They should force turnovers in this game, limiting New York’s opportunities to score.

I slightly prefer the under to the spread, although both are worth consideration.

Giants vs. Dolphins Prediction: Dolphins 24, Giants 10
