Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants walked away with a loss against another team that’s also on its second quarterback of the season, the San Francisco 49ers, and Mac Jones. Dart and company put up a valiant effort against one of the better teams in the league, but they came up short 34-24 at home.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll has been working to figure out his offense with rookie quarterback Dart. It’s been a mixed bag of results up to this point, as the rookie won a couple of impressive games while getting run down in others. As Daboll and company figure things out, one NFL reporter raised a concern with Dart’s play style.

NFL Reporter Questions the Sustainability of Jaxson Dart’s Physical Play Style
New York football reporter Connor Hughes tweeted on Sunday that Dart’s physical play style isn’t sustainable. “This play style for Jaxson Dart isn’t sustainable,” he wrote on X.
Dart was the Giants’ leading rusher against the 49ers on Sunday. He tied running back Devin Singletary for the most rushing attempts on the entire team, with eight. His 56 yards on the ground further led Singletary’s 43, as the quarterback also recorded their only rushing touchdown on the day.
It was an extremely physical game for the rookie shot-caller, as he also took two sacks. His outing raised concerns about his longevity, as Hughes highlighted. The game against the 49ers also isn’t an exception; Dart has been putting up over 50 rushing yards in four of the six matchups he’s started in this year.
While it made him a very productive quarterback, it hasn’t exactly borne fruit. The youngster is 2-4 since taking over the starting job from veteran Russell Wilson, raising questions about the offense in general.
The style of offense, where Dart runs a lot and throws even more, drew some comparisons to a high school football team.
Many fans online also criticized Daboll for using all his quarterbacks like he used Josh Allen in Buffalo. However, the problem is that none of them is as physical as Allen.
Hopefully, Dart holds out long enough for Daboll to fully construct New York’s offense around the youngster in a way that enables them to win games consistently.
Dart is tasked with taking down the Chicago Bears on the road in Week 10, and only time will tell how the Giants’ offense evolves around him.
