Former Rams DT Claims $7,600,000,000 Franchise Is ‘The Biggest Threat’ For Nick Sirianni’s Eagles

Michael Brockers claims one team is the Philadelphia Eagles' biggest threat, and it's busy silently building a playoff-contending roster.

The Philadelphia Eagles cruised to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history last season. They outscored their four opponents by a combined score of 145-77 during the postseason run. Their toughest test came in the Divisional Round as they squeaked by the Los Angeles Rams, winning 28-22.

Los Angeles had a real opportunity to steal the game as they drove the ball deep into Eagles territory with under two minutes to play before they stalled out on fourth down with under 30 seconds remaining. Entering the 2025 season, a former Rams defensive tackle believes they pose the biggest threat to the defending champions’ hopes of repeating as NFC champions.

Former Rams DT Claims They’re The Eagles’ Biggest Threat

Michael Brockers spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Rams before joining the Detroit Lions for his final two years. Despite his connection to both franchises, the former defensive tackle believes that Los Angeles—with a Forbes valuation of $7.6 billion—is a much bigger threat to the Eagles’ chances of once again representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

During a recent appearance on NFL Network, Brockers claimed:

“Even though the Lions are a great team – I think they have a great foundation, great culture – but losing Ben Johnson as your offensive coordinator and the continuity that him and Jared Goff had, I think that’s going to be something to kind of keep an eye on. Both coordinators, to be honest with you, but Sean McVay, his staff, they always draft really well.

“They kind of know what they’re doing. And, like I said earlier, they’re silently building a team. They have Davante Adams. Matthew Stafford still has it. Even though Kyle [Brandt] called him an old man, he still has it – arm is still there, his mind is still sharp. So, I see the Rams being the biggest threat for the Philadelphia Eagles this year.”

While the Lions are expected to be healthier in 2025 than they were last season, it is fair to wonder how they will look following the loss of Johnson and former defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. Furthermore, Detroit’s inability to win a postseason game last year has likely left a sour taste in the mouths of some pundits.

Meanwhile, the Rams’ addition of Adams will make an already dynamic offense even better. The Eagles will host Los Angeles in Week 3 and Detroit in Week 11. Let’s see how the season plays out.
