The 2025 NFL Draft is just under two weeks away. NFL Hall of Famer and current Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has two sons entering this year’s draft pool. However, the siblings face vastly different levels of anticipation and hype.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders possesses first-round talent and is projected to be among the top three quarterbacks selected. Meanwhile, defensive back Shilo Sanders is expected to be a late-round pick or potentially an undrafted free agent.
While the defensive standout may not possess his brother’s undeniable skills, he has garnered some support as the draft nears.

NFL Analyst Praises Shilo Sanders’ Relentless Aggression Ahead of 2025 Draft
Former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baldinger recently conducted an extensive film study of Shilo and came away impressed. According to Baldinger, Shilo displays the natural aggressiveness, game experience, and open-field tackling ability to warrant being among the defensive players drafted.
“Let’s take a look at Shilo Sanders, because there’s a lot to like,” Baldinger said. “First of all, he’s unbelievably aggressive. He’s a good tackler. This was his signature play. Second game at Colorado, jumped this pass right here and made a house call (touchdown). He runs a 4.52 forty-yard dash. That’s what he ran at his Pro Day at 200 pounds.
“He’s got a ton of experience. That’s what you want. You watch him against UCLA, Carson Steele in the Piston formation, here he comes. He’s going to center him up right here and here he comes (for the tackle), puts him down and the ball comes out. He’s got six forced fumbles and six interceptions in 56 games. Ton of experience.”

If the latest PFSN mock draft from Jacob Infante proves accurate, Sanders would begin his professional career as an undrafted free agent, as he is not currently projected to be among the 257 players selected. During his senior season with the Buffaloes, Sanders recorded 67 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and two pass deflections.
Sanders, 25, will be one of the older prospects in this year’s NFL Draft. However, as Baldinger pointed out, his 56 collegiate games provide general managers with a substantial body of game film for evaluation. Sanders’ knack for making impactful plays, evidenced by six forced fumbles and interceptions in his college career, will also garner him closer attention.
Finally, his lineage as the son of “Prime” and his mentorship by an NFL legend will undoubtedly factor into his NFL journey, regardless of whether he is ultimately drafted.
