Emmanuel Acho thought he had found his calling in sports television. The former NFL linebacker had transitioned from the gridiron to the studio, co-hosting “The Facility” on Fox Sports 1.
Then came the axe. Now, for the first time since his show got canceled, Acho is speaking directly to his fans about what comes next.
Fox Sports Shakes Up Daytime Lineup, Cancels Three Shows Including Emmanuel Acho’s ‘The Facility’
Fox Sports 1 pulled the plug on three weekday talk shows in one swift move: “Breakfast Ball,” “The Facility,” and “Speak.” The cancellations wiped out nearly six hours of daily programming and marked a major shift in FS1’s daytime strategy as the network prepares for the upcoming football season.
The network’s decision didn’t just affect shows; it also ended careers at FS1 for several high-profile personalities.
According to “The Athletic’s” Andrew Marchand, Joy Taylor, host of “Speak,” will reportedly not have her contract renewed. Other familiar faces, such as Craig Carton, Paul Pierce, and Keyshawn Johnson, are also leaving the network.
Acho co-hosted “The Facility” alongside Chase Daniel, James Jones, and LeSean McCoy. The show operated from Los Angeles and featured a rotating cast of former NFL players. This was part of FS1’s effort to revamp its daytime lineup after the cancellation of “Undisputed.”
But “The Facility” struggled to attract viewers, and its low ratings ultimately led to its cancellation, ending a short-lived experiment in athlete-driven sports talk.
Acho didn’t sugarcoat his situation. In response to the news, he expressed uncertainty about his future via X with a brutally honest take. “In sports, when you’re not good enough, you get cut. In TV, when you’re not good enough, you get cancelled,” Acho wrote.
In sports, when you’re not good enough, you get cut.
In TV, when you’re not good enough, you get cancelled.
I’m not going to try and come to y’all with some “Big announcements soon. Stay tuned” because I don’t actually know what’s coming. But what I do know is I trust God. ❤️🙏🏾

He continued with a message that showed both vulnerability and faith: “I’m not going to try and come to y’all with some ‘Big announcements soon. Stay tuned,’ because I don’t actually know what’s coming. But what I do know is I trust God.”
While FS1 has not commented publicly on Acho’s exit, Marchand reports that the network is expected to develop new programming to replace the canceled shows.
Acho’s exit also coincides with a personal controversy at Fox Sports. A workplace misconduct lawsuit filed earlier this year alleged that he and Charlie Dixon, a former programming executive, had inappropriate relationships with Taylor.
While the lawsuit did not directly implicate Acho in misconduct, the allegations added to the turbulence surrounding FS1’s daytime lineup.
With “The Herd” and “First Things First” remaining intact, FS1 appears to be doubling down on its more established programs. As for Acho, his next move is uncertain, but given his strong social media presence, it’s unlikely that he’ll remain sidelined for long.
