Dan Orlovsky has his fair share of controversial views, but usually, they’re restricted to football. On Tuesday, however, he attracted more controversy with his opinion on a fairly common topic, and the NFL world was quick to react.
Dan Orlovsky Under Fire for His Opinion on Male Pedicures
ESPN’s “Get Up” was discussing a pedicure treatment taken by Florida HC Jon Sumrall, and Orlovsky used the opportunity to voice his opinion on males getting pedicure treatment, and he strongly believes that men shouldn’t do it:
“I never got a pedicure. I never will. I’m completely against pedicures for dudes. You’re a dude, you’re not supposed to get pedicures. I’m so against this, this is a thing for me. Dudes should not be getting pedicures.”

The critics came out in full force. With ESPN recently laying some of its employees, Orlovsky’s opinion on Sumrall’s way of relaxing during the college football season, a grueling period for the coaches involved, was noted on social media.
Cover 1 writer and podcaster Aaron Quinn called out the former quarterback for his opinion, noting that there’s nothing wrong with a man taking care of himself.
“It’s just insecurity in masculinity to be opposed to taking care of yourself. Weird ideology”, Aaron said.

Nate Tice, a writer for Yahoo Sports, noted how everybody should take care of yourselves, using WWE and UFC legend Brock Lesnar as an example.

Daniel Harms, a football analyst for RGR Football who writes about the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL Draft, also couldn’t believe how this was being discussed.
“First and foremost, pedicures are amazing and everyone should do it. But just look at this headline on ESPN in 2026”, Daniel said.

Robert Littal, who works for Black Sports Online, was another one criticizing ESPN for discussing such an issue, saying, “They fired Ryan Clark for this.”

And finally, college football specialist and host Connor O’Gara defined Orlovsky’s words as “peak male insecurity”:

To be fair, the former quarterback did not hide and admitted the fact that his feet “look awful.”
