Feud Between John Rocker, Patrick Mahomes Sr. Gets Ugly as Ex-MLB Pitcher Calls Out ‘Loser’ Brittany Mahomes

John Rocker calls Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes, a loser after she allegedly stopped a fight between him and Pat Mahomes Sr.

Patrick Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes Sr., lit up the internet in February 2025 during Super Bowl week with his fight against former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker. The altercation went viral, and Barstool Sports quickly jumped at the chance to schedule a boxing match between the two former Major League pitchers for April 17.

However, the fight was canceled after reported intervention from the Chiefs quarterback, leaving Rocker fuming online.

John Rocker Calls Patrick Mahomes’ Wife, Brittany Mahomes, a Loser

Barstool owner Dave Portnoy announced on “The Unnamed Show” on Feb. 21 that the fight had been canceled and blamed it on the Chiefs’ quarterback’s agents and his wife, Brittany.

Portnoy’s claims lined up with Rocker’s, who said Mahomes had been trying to kill the fight through his agents. After learning Brittany was involved, Rocker went off on X on April 17, the day he was supposed to fight Mahomes Sr.

“Today is the day I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr. Instead of fighting today, he backed out like a little b**** because his son and his loser wife decided it’d be a bad look to the family name for him to get in the ring. Bunch of f****** woke liberals,” he wrote.

The feud started after Rocker tried to shake Mahomes Sr.’s hand in New Orleans during Super Bowl weekend, but it was slapped away, sparking an argument. The two exchanged insults, with Mahomes later calling Rocker a “menace to society.”

While Mahomes Sr. later admitted the altercation was staged to build hype for their fight, their beef goes back to when Mahomes Sr. played for the New York Mets.

Years ago, Rocker gave an infamous interview with Sports Illustrated where he bashed New York and insulted several minority groups. He said he’d “rather retire” than play for the Mets, called the city “depressing,” and ripped into people who live there.

The comments were so inflammatory that MLB suspended Rocker for 28 days to start the 2000 season. That ban was later reduced to 14 games after an appeal.

Mahomes Sr. has had his own share of controversy. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2008, 2019, and 2024. He also had his license suspended after being caught without a valid license and is now under “intense supervision” in his first year of probation.

Mahomes, meanwhile, is focused on getting back to the Super Bowl in 2026. His Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl 59.
