Not only is the Super Bowl one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, but the halftime show also draws plenty of interest. This year, it was Bad Bunny who performed at halftime, and his show brought millions of eyes to the biggest stage. Bad Bunny has many celebrities featured in his halftime performance, including Jessica Alba and Pedro Pascal. However, one athlete invited to the show was unable to attend.
That is San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. For those who are unaware, Tatis Jr. is managed by Rimas Sports, which is the group co-owned by Bad Bunny.

According to ESPN, the group’s role is to “expand his portfolio as an athlete, businessman and philanthropist.”
While this group is not allowed to discuss contract negotiations on behalf of Tatis Jr., they can strike marketing deals. Tatis Jr. is one of the most lucrative players in the MLB, thanks to the contract he signed back in 2021.
He agreed to a 14-year, $340 million contract with the Padres in February of 2021, and at the time, that was the longest contract in MLB history.

Marty Caswell broke the news that Tatis Jr. would be unable to attend the Super Bowl. “Padres star Fernando Tatís, who is signed with Bad Bunny’s @RimasSports, says he was invited to participate in the halftime show but wasn’t able to make it,” Caswell wrote.
Tatis Jr. is one of the most polarizing players in Major League Baseball. He has the talent to be a perennial MVP candidate. Still, his injury history is substantial, and he was even suspended for 80 games back in 2022 for violating the league’s PED policy.

Tatis Jr. is one of many athletes whom Rimas Sports manages. Others include Ronald Acuña Jr., Francisco Álvarez of MLB, and Juan Pablo Montoya of Motorsports. Bad Bunny created this group with the focus on working with Latin American athletes.
According to Front Office Sports, “the Puerto Rican rapper now intends to support Latin ballplayers with marketing services.” After all, Bad Bunny did attract quite an audience.

Despite differing views of the halftime performance, it was one of the most-watched in Super Bowl history. ESPN reported that the halftime show averaged 128.2 million viewers. That would make it the fourth most-watched halftime show ever, behind Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson, and Usher.
Even though the show was mostly in Spanish, it was still highly thought of by many in the American audience. The upbeat music and dancing brought on a cool experience.
