Injuries are an unfortunate but inevitable part of football. As a result, fantasy football managers have to navigate this minefield. To assist, we’ve reviewed all of the previous week’s action to give you the latest information on every player who was injured this past week in the NFL.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Injury Report
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy finished the game against the Seahawks without an issue but popped up on the team’s prospective injury report on Monday with a shoulder and a toe injury.
Brock Purdy has a left shoulder and toe injury that make him uncertain for Sunday’s game in New Orleans. Kyle Shanahan said the team will see how the practice week goes.

According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, there are questions on if Purdy will be able to play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. If he is unable to go, then veteran Mac Jones would make the start.
Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Drake London suffered a shoulder injury on a contested catch in the end zone in the fourth quarter on Sunday. He did not return to the game.
The Falcons got good news after initial testing revealed a sprain that earned London a “day-to-day” designation. This appears to be a short-term injury that may allow him to play as early as Week 2. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his practice status throughout the week after he posted a modest eight receptions for 55 yards on an absurd 15 targets in Week 1.
Evan Engram, TE, Denver Broncos
Evan Engram got off to a slow start for the Denver Broncos (four targets, three receptions, and 21 receiving yards) before injuring his calf on a reception in the third quarter against the Titans. He did not return to the game after the injury.
As of this article, there have been no updates regarding his health. Calf injuries are notoriously fickle, so it would not be surprising to see Engram miss a few weeks to get healthy. Wide receivers Pat Bryant
Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Xavier Worthy played just three snaps in the Chiefs’ opening game against the Chargers before colliding with Travis Kelce on a crossing route and dislocating his shoulder. He did not return to the game.
#Chiefs Xavier Worthy – High concern for shoulder dislocation.
Suspect MRI coming. Re-injury risk = high with these.
In-season return depends on personal risk tolerance + structural damage extent.

There hasn’t been much clarity regarding Worthy’s shoulder, with head coach Andy Reid stating the team was taking it “day by day.” Hollywood Brown is already a waiver wire priority given his role in Week 1, but that is even more true if Worthy misses time the next couple of weeks. The Chiefs are already without Rashee Rice for six games due to his suspension.
Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
Brock Bowers was having an extremely efficient game against the New England Patriots (eight targets, five receptions, 103 yards, and 15.3 PPR points) on a 51% snap share before tweaking his knee in the fourth quarter of the team’s win against the New England Patriots.
In numerous interviews since, Bowers has made it clear that it was a minor knee injury and he was taken off the field as a precaution. Time will tell if that is true, but fantasy managers who drafted him in the early rounds are holding their breath. Michael Mayer will become an instant starter in fantasy if Bowers misses time.
George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
Things were set up for George Kittle to have a big game after he caught his first four targets for 25 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury that occurred just 21 snaps into the game ended his day early.
The news has not gotten better in the hours since the injury. Early reports indicate that Kittle will be out of the lineup for three to five weeks and is a candidate for the injured reserve (with a designation to return).
#49ers George Kittle – Out w/hamstring. Avg 2-3 wks.

Neither Jake Tonges nor Luke Farrell is a very good receiving tight end, so fantasy managers may want to scour the waiver wire for options like Juwan Johnson and Harold Fannin Jr.
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Week 1 was brutal for the 49ers on the injury front. San Francisco was without veteran Jauan Jennings for most of the preseason because of a calf issue, but had to watch him exit Week 1’s game early with a shoulder injury. He caught just two of five targets for 16 yards before leaving the game in the third quarter.
The MRI on Jennings’ shoulder came back clean, allowing him to play Week 2. He will likely be limited in practice throughout the week.
Will Shipley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Will Shipley had a minor role early in the game for the Philadelphia Eagles, handling three carries for 26 yards on five snaps. Unfortunately, a rib injury ended his game early. Still, it was encouraging to see the second year back be part of the running back rotation early.
The Eagles traded for Tank Bigsby but claimed that the move had nothing to do with Shipley’s injury. Time will tell how true that is. Shipley likely isn’t rostered in most leagues, but for deeper leagues, his practice status bears monitoring throughout the week.
