Charlie Smyth, New Orleans Saints (at TEN)

The process behind streaming kickers is finding one on a good offense that is favored and playing in good weather. Imagine telling someone a month ago that a Saints kicker would qualify in Week 17.

Charlie Smyth has only been in the NFL for a month. Yet, he’s already establishing himself as one of the best young kickers.

Smyth has made nine of his 11 field goal attempts across four games, while making all seven of his extra points. He’s attempted multiple field goals in three consecutive games and hit five of them last week against the Jets.

This week, the Saints once again are in a favorable spot against a Titans team allowing the seventh most fantasy points per game to kickers. Even though they are on the road and both teams are playing out a lost season, they are both still trying because their coaches need to evaluate their young quarterbacks. That makes this a game that should play out like a random midseason game where both teams are doing their best to win.

Given how well Tyler Shough has been playing, the Saints should find themselves in scoring positions plenty. But they’re still not quite proficient enough to finish every drive. Smyth is one of the best kicker options in fantasy this week.

Andy Borregales, New England Patriots (at NYJ)

One of the best young kickers in the league, Andy Borregales, finds himself in a very favorable spot ahead of Week 17. The Patriots are fighting for the No. 1 seed and need a win this week against the Jets. They will be on the road, which is not ideal, but they are favored. Although it will be cold, the weather does not project to be bad.

The last time these teams met, Borregales hit two field goals and three extra points. He hasn’t missed an extra point since Week 2, while hitting 89.7% of his field goals this season.

The Jets will likely continue starting Brady Cook at quarterback, which means they will struggle to get first downs. That means the Patriots will have the ball a lot, giving them ample opportunities to score. The Jets allow the most fantasy points per game to kickers.

Harrison Mevis, K, Los Angeles Rams (at ATL)

Harrison Mevis is still relatively new in Los Angeles, but the Rams kicker has already made an impression. Mevis has been a top-12 fantasy kicker in five of his seven games, including his Rams debut, in which he didn’t even attempt a field goal, but hit all six of his extra points.

Mevis is attached to the most impressive offense in the NFL and, as a bonus, is playing indoors this weekend, away from any inconvenient December weather.
