Terry McLaurin’s situation just got a lot more interesting for fantasy football managers. After a brief return to action, the Commanders’ star wideout is once again facing uncertainty heading into Week 10. The team hasn’t given details, but the vibe around Washington isn’t exactly optimistic.
With a bye week coming soon, fantasy football players might need to start weighing their backup options carefully.
Terry McLaurin Injury Update
McLaurin missed the Washington Commanders’ Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks after reaggravating his quad injury in his Week 8 return to play. The belief is that McLaurin will not miss an extended period of time, but that didn’t stop head coach Dan Quinn from stating that McLaurin is unlikely to play Week 10 on Monday.
The Commanders have their bye week in Week 12, making it unlikely we see McLaurin back on the field before Week 13. There is no great replacement for McLaurin, but Chris Moore, Jaylin Lane, and Treylon Burks will have expanded roles in the offense in his absence.

McLaurin Fantasy Outlook
This is lining up awfully similar to the Purdy injury situation.
The injuries and positions are obviously different, but both were hampered, returned, and are now missing more time due to a reinjury and/or never really being right in the first place.

We got news on Sunday that McLaurin’s quad injury will cost him at least one more game, and sitting Week 11, ahead of the Week 12 bye, is very much on the table.
He’s seen more than four targets in only one of his four games this season, as he’s struggled to live up to expectations with Deebo Samuel earning work alongside him.
You’re obviously holding, but the outlook isn’t great. If you can look through the injury trees, there is a home game against the Cowboys on Christmas that could undo all wrongs, with that being Championship week for most.
