In recent seasons, the wide receiver position has received more attention in fantasy football. The NFL’s recent rule changes have contributed to a pass-heavy league, with stars emerging throughout the league.
Finding those breakout receivers, especially in the middle rounds, is a big part of being successful for fantasy.
Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
It’s easy to overlook Tee Higgins because, while he is a great receiver, you will always be the secondary receiver if you share a team with Ja’Marr Chase.
However, the good thing is that there isn’t really an issue with volume through the air. The Cincinnati Bengals’ defense consistently put the offense in a position where they had to throw the ball to try to win the game. The Bengals ended up throwing the ball 652 times last season — only beaten by the Cleveland Browns’ 661 attempts.
As it stands, Higgins is a fantasy WR2 who will have some weeks when the Bengals have to play catch-up, and he will have some WR1 weeks — a good value currently.

Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Emeka Egbuka was selected in the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after an impressive college career with Ohio State. At the time, he looked like he would sit on the depth chart behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin until he was allowed to get on the field.

But, with news that Chris Godwin could start the season on the PUP list and miss the opening four games for Tampa, Egbuka could find himself on the field straight away. Given his college performance, it’s possible the veteran won’t return to the same role, leaving Egbuka as the steal of the draft.
