When it comes to fantasy football, the quarterback position tends to draw people into one of two camps. There are the “take one early” crowd (the premise of having a reliable week-to-week starter) and the “wait until I have to” crowd (aka the streamers).
Before we get into the rankings, bear in mind that you shouldn’t aim to stream the position each week. Instead, you want to find a QB who has been undervalued who can become that every-week starter. Think Patrick Mahomes in his first season as a starter — practically undrafted.
Quarterbacks to Target in Fantasy Football Drafts
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert has consistently been a top fantasy QB since entering the league in 2020. A big part of his performance has been his durability and the volume of pass attempts. Doesn’t have a huge rushing upside, which is why he is overlooked.

With his previous favorite target, Keenan Allen, returning to the Chargers, and the early promise of Ladd McConkey, he has the weapons to be successful. Last season, he had eight games with multiple TDs. In two of those games, he found the endzone on the ground. Solid floor week to week
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love has been the starter for the Packers for the last two seasons and has been able to be a viable fantasy asset. Coming into his third season as a starter, he now has (arguably) his best receiving group.

New first-round selection Matthew Golden brings plenty of speed to an offense that was already able to punish defenses deep. Overlooked consistently for other options, Love only had three games where he didn’t throw a TD (one of those in Week 18, where he only threw the ball 12 times). Love also has a nice start to the season for fantasy, with the Lions, Cowboys, and Bengals in the opening six weeks of the season.
