The Seattle Seahawks travel to Nashville for their Week 12 matchup against the Tennessee Titans looking to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season. Kenneth Walker III was surprisingly added to the injury report Friday and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Will fantasy football managers have their lead back available this week?
Kenneth Walker III Injury Update
Walker was not listed on the injury report all week before suddenly appearing as questionable on Friday. This is not a great sign given that he was completely healthy through Wednesday and Thursday’s practice sessions.
The designation was announced before the Seahawks began practice Friday, as the final injury designations are due before West Coast teams typically hold their afternoon sessions.
Fantasy managers do not yet know Walker’s participation level on Friday. The team simply reported that Walker is dealing with a glute issue, as first reported by Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic and confirmed by Gregg Bell. This is obviously concerning since whatever is ailing Walker clearly happened during the week rather than carrying over from Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
The only fortunate aspect of this situation is the Seahawks happen to be playing on the East Coast this week. Seattle travels to Nashville for a 1:00 PM ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium, meaning fantasy managers will know before the early slate of games begins whether Walker is active. Had this been a typical West Coast home game at 4:05 PM ET or 4:25 PM ET, managers would face agonizing lineup decisions without clarity on his status.
Walker’s injury history makes this development particularly worrisome for fantasy managers. He has dealt with numerous soft tissue injuries throughout his career, including ankle, calf, oblique, groin, and foot issues. He missed six games last season due to various ailments and has consistently battled through bumps and bruises since entering the league in 2022.
Friday’s practice report and Walker’s game status designation will provide critical information about his availability. Ideally, Walker participates in some capacity.
Regardless, though, we got some positive news from the team. Head coach Mike MacDonald told reporters that Walker is “fine to play.” While it seems strange to suddenly list him as questionable with an injury so insignificant that the team is not concerned at all, Walker should be good to go.
Walker’s Fantasy Outlook
Walker has three games this season with a snap rate over 50% and two of them have come in November as Seattle considers a soft-launch of him as their lead back as a path to a higher offensive ceiling.
In response, Walker scored, caught all of his targets and finished with 111 yards against a stingy Rams defense. While toiling in a split, he had produced at least 20% under expectation in four straight games, but on Sunday, he was 40.9% better than what the average NFL back would have done with his touch diet.

Tiny sample, yes, but we have to walk before we can run and Week 11 was a positive development.
While Charlie Brown has tried to kick this football in the past, this does feel a bit different. The Seahawks view themselves as legit contenders and if they are going to function at the peak of their potential, it’s on the back of Walker.
I don’t think they are yet ready to commit in a featured way, but the trends point to him getting the first chance to shine in this plus-matchup and an explosive Week 12 could swing things in a major way for the remainder of the season.
