The Minnesota Vikings will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. Here’s the latest fantasy football news and advice to help you with your lineups this week and moving forward, specifically regarding RB Jordan Mason.
Is Jordan Mason Playing in Week 3?
Mason is not on the injury report and is expected to play.
We’ll continue to monitor the Vikings’ injury report leading up to kickoff for any changes. You can also visit and bookmark our Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.
Should You Start or Sit Jordan Mason in Week 3?
The door is open to a role that may have been Jordan Mason’s already. Aaron Jones is likely out for at least one week with a bulky hamstring, and it comes at the perfect time for Mason truthers:
“Vs Bengals”.
Since the beginning of last season, 72.8% of RB rush yards against Cincinnati have come after first contact (league average: 69.2%).
That may seem like a small edge, but given how Mason runs, that sort of flaw could undo a defense that struggles to tackle, and that’s especially true if you think the Jake Browning version of that offense isn’t going to put the pressure on Minnesota’s offense to abandon the run.
Mason may not be the most versatile option, and that’s going to cap his ceiling, but he has a great chance to finish top 10 for the week in total carries, and that has him firmly in the middle of my RB2 tier, even in PPR formats.
