Hunter Henry has been in fantasy football discussions for a decade now and is coming off a season that saw him record a career-high 768 receiving yards. The New England offensive environment is one we want to buy stock in, and with him catching 60+ passes in consecutive seasons in this system, Henry is at least on the back-end TE1 radar as your draft rounds out.
Should I Draft Hunter Henry in Fantasy Football?
Drake Maye is great, and he’s likely only going to get better. The backfield offers upside to give this offense balance, and the addition of A.J. Brown makes the Patriots a threat to lead the NFL in scoring.
No matter what you think of the 31-year-old Henry, he’s going to be on the field with regularity, so if you believe that this is a top-5 offense, the case is straightforward.

In three of five years with the franchise, Henry has caught at least half a dozen touchdown passes and his 12.8 yards per catch last season was his highest mark since 2017 with the Chargers. His red zone target rate has increased in three consecutive seasons, and that is where my optimism stems: he can save the day with a touchdown.
I don’t think this is the type of profile you’re slotting in weekly with confidence, but if backed into a corner, you could do worse. I’m not leaving drafts with him, but he is among the names I am watching most closely in those spots where I’m looking at a TE by committee roster construction.

The tricky part here is projecting just how involved Romeo Doubs is in this offense. Henry isn’t going to take any food off the plate of Brown, and Doubs showed some scoring chops during his time in Green Bay.
If Henry is the second option in the passing game in scoring situations, there’s TE1 upside. If not, he’s not going to be able to produce anything other than replacement-level numbers.
