Which Defense Should You Start This Week?
The Los Angeles Rams finished Week 1 as the third-ranked fantasy defense, racking up 11 points against the Texans. Now they’ll face the Tennessee Titans, who struggled to move the ball against Denver. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward looked uneasy in his debut, and while his timing with receivers should improve, he’ll face relentless pressure from an explosive Rams pass rush in Week 2. Los Angeles is well-positioned to exploit his inexperience and remain a top fantasy option.

Indianapolis is another defense to watch on the waiver wire. The Colts dominated Miami for three quarters in Week 1 and now get a matchup with Denver. The Broncos’ offense sputtered against Tennessee, and rookie Bo Nix has shown early growing pains. While Indy may find it tough against Denver’s strong defense on the other side of the ball, the Colts’ newly bolstered unit has the talent to be a sneaky fantasy asset this season.
Meanwhile, San Francisco’s defense is adjusting after key departures in free agency, but early returns are promising. The 49ers held Seattle to just 13 points in Week 1, finishing as the 10th-best fantasy unit. This week they’ll take on New Orleans, where second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler remains a work in progress. Even with improved talent around him, he faces an uphill battle against one of the league’s most star-studded defenses. The 49ers remain a reliable play with clear upside in Week 2.
