Emeka Egbuka Fantasy Projection 2026: Should You Draft the Buccaneers WR in Fantasy Football?

Emeka Egbuka finished as a top-12 WR three times in his first five weeks, then faded. Is the Buccaneers receiver worth his 2026 fantasy football price?

Emeka Egbuka wasted no time showcasing his potential in a stellar rookie season, but his production faded as the weather cooled, leaving fantasy football managers unsure about what to expect moving forward.

With Mike Evans taking his talents to San Francisco, the deck is clear. Can Egbuka stabilize his production patterns and return value that you feel good about on a weekly basis?

Should You Draft Emeka Egbuka in Fantasy Football?

Egbuka was WR4 in his NFL debut, one of three top-12 finishes he posted within the first five weeks of his career. That’s the good. The bad: his last finish like that came in Week 10, something that speaks to the chaotic nature of this profile.

At 6-foot-1, he’s not Mike Evans, but he should be able to soak up plenty of the end zone and red-zone usage that Evans leaves behind in a way that lifts his fantasy stock.

For me, this comes down to something pretty simple. Egbuka is an NFL talent who’s still developing, and there will be ups and downs that come with it.

Investing at his current cost is more a bet on your confidence in Baker Mayfield than anything about Egbuka himself. We feel good about Egbuka being the clear top target in this offense now that Evans is gone, but how much is that worth?

Evans in 2023 and 2024. That’s the entire list of receivers who have averaged north of 15 PPR PPG from Mayfield throughout his career. In fact, the only other time Mayfield supported a pass catcher scoring even 13 PPR points per game was Jarvis Landry back in 2019.

If you believe in Mayfield and think those underwhelming numbers elsewhere are more about limited support than the QB himself, Egbuka is a good buy in the range of names like Terry McLaurin and Luther Burden. If you don’t believe that, he’s priced too high.

If Mayfield simply can’t elevate the talent around him, 2026 could look a lot like 2025 did: a wide range of weekly outcomes with season-long numbers that read a lot more optimistic than his fantasy managers actually felt watching it unfold.
