Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans (vs. ARI)
The Texans basically have the perfect offense for kickers from a fantasy perspective. They’re not exactly explosive. No one is expecting them to finish every drive with a touchdown. They also aren’t overly aggressive on fourth downs, content to allow their league-best defense to win them games. As a result, Ka’imi Fairbairn has attempted multiple field goals in every single game he’s played in this season.
Of course, it’s also important that our kickers make the kicks they attempt. Fortunately, Fairbairn has missed just three all season. He’s also gone a perfect 18/18 on extra points.
The Cardinals allow the third most fantasy points per game to kickers. This is the perfect spot for the Texans to earn multiple scoring opportunities, but not convert them all into touchdowns.
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks (vs. IND)
From a pure matchup standpoint, this one doesn’t look good. The Colts allow the 13th fewest fantasy points per game to kickers. So, why target a kicker against them? Circumstances have changed.
Indianapolis has had one of the best offenses in football. That means more possession, more scoring, and putting opponents in positions where they can’t really settle for three. With Daniel Jones done for the season, that’s about to change.
Riley Leonard looked at least passable as a replacement last week. But this offense is not going to be anywhere near as potent as it’s been. That means they won’t put opponents in negative game script as much and won’t possess the ball as much.
At home, the Seahawks should win this game. They should have plenty of opportunities to score. We just have to hope they don’t finish every drive with a touchdown.
