The Los Angeles Rams prepare for their Week 14 road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals following their disappointing loss to Carolina. Davante Adams did not practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. Will fantasy football managers have the veteran wide receiver available this week?
Davante Adams Injury Update
Adams didn’t practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Head coach Sean McVay addressed the veteran receiver’s status earlier in the week, explaining that Adams is more sore than injured and wasn’t expected to participate in Wednesday’s session. McVay told reporters Monday that Adams had a little bit of soreness in his hamstring, but nothing the team expects to restrict guys from being available this week.
The Rams head coach added they might limit some guys in practice once they see how they come in, but nothing that they expect to affect game statuses for Arizona. McVay is historically truthful and forthcoming regarding player injuries, which provides fantasy managers with reliable information when evaluating availability. He stated he expects Adams to play Sunday in Arizona.
Adams dealt with hamstring soreness earlier this year in Week 4 and missed practice throughout the week but ultimately suited up against Indianapolis. Despite the issue, Adams played his usual number of snaps and caught four passes for 56 yards with a touchdown. He told reporters in early October that his hamstring felt much, much better but he wouldn’t claim it was 100%. Adams acknowledged that very few players are at full health at any point during the season.
Adams is one of the oldest wide receivers in the league at age 32. He is a 12-year veteran and future Hall of Famer who doesn’t need much practice at this point in his career.
Wednesday absences are common for veterans managing minor ailments throughout the season. The Rams will almost certainly list Adams as limited when he returns to practice Thursday or Friday.
Nevertheless, there is no cause for concern regarding his Week 14 availability. Adams will play this week against Arizona.
Adams’ Fantasy Outlook
Adams is battling a minor hamstring injury and maybe that lowers his ability to elevate on touchdown celebrations, but I’m otherwise not worried until the coaching staff gives me reason to be.
We are witnessing one of the most unique seasons by a receiver in recent memory and there are no signs of it slowing down.

The play designs and single coverage situations that present themselves in tight are elite, but his ability to uncover and connect with Matthew Stafford in a scramble drill for a seven-yard score last week was just another way for him to leverage his savvy.
Adams now sits alone in the seven spot for career touchdown receptions after passing Antonio Gates last weekend and is as reliable an option in close as I can remember.
